Hey there, New to the camper scene! We just bought a used 2017 Spree escape 196S, actually it has been bought and sold twice just never really used lol. Anyway I picked up up last Wednesday, and the guys who did the walk through had no idea what one switch was for, so was hoping for a little help. The switch I'm referring to is a red lighted switch on the wall to the left as you enter the camper. Its with the outside light and the interior light switches. I turn it on and it lights up but we don't see any indication of what it controls. They were thinking maybe a water heater pad??? But the service guys were not sure. Any answers???

Have you unrolled the awning yet? My 2016 Spree Escape has LED lights in the awning roller, with a light up red switch to turn them on.

You have described exactly the switch, location and everything, for the led light bar in the awning of my 2015 Spree Connect. Your lights may not be working but that's the switch for them. You have to completely unroll the awning to see the light bar.

It's a lighted switch to let you know the lights are on when the awning is rolled up.

I agree, it the switch for the awning lights, the reason it red is to remind you that the awning lights are on Safe Travels Chuck

I have a red "light up" switch in my MXT 319 toyhauler and it is the on/off switch for the awning led light strip.

Awning switch here as well, either your awning led lights don't work, are not there, or switch is screwed up would be my guess, the led strip sometimes hard to see if awning is not completely out, as it sits on the rail and gets covered by front valance if not fully extended. hard to believe dealer didn't know what it,s for, I would take it back and make sure it gets fixed. The water heater and pump switchas is also red. Lighted. But should be in the bathroom. As in my 2015.

I checked and there are wires running into the awning, so you're right. We have opened the awning but probably not fully enough to see the lights. To close to the house to extend it right now, but will be checking it this weekend for sure. Thanks everyone!

I still believe they should move the light strip to the body of the camper, underneath the awning. That way you can use your patio lights whether your awning is out or not.

I fully agree with you on the lights attached to the camper. Sometimes you don't want to (or cannot) open the awning all the way.

Well the more interesting part is, when we did the walk thru the guy says you want to make sure you don't extend the awning past this point, which looks like it probably is well short of being able to see the lights, which is probably why I haven't seen them on yet. Might rethink buying our next camper from this place lol.

Makes you wonder what type of repair service they will do, if the tech dozen't know about the awning lights I wonder what else he is not aware of.
I also wonder why he told you not to unroll your awning past a curtain point, is there a problem with the awning past that point Ugh !!

There should be a series of peg holes in both sides of awning so you can pitch in either direction. Expecting heavy rain at times this weekend
