Hello - I'm new here
I did a search and couldn't find this anywhere which is surprising because i thought it might be a pretty common issue so i apologize if this is a duplicate.
I have a 2017 Connect 250BHS i bought new year. We had some minor issues last season, several lights burned out in the awning, speakers in the awning suck terribly, fuses blown in the stereo (replaced and have had no issues since), but we didn't run into any major problems before i put it away.
Getting it ready for a short trip we're taking this weekend and the gas part of the water heater quit lighting. It did light off the first time and i got hot water but when i woke up in the morning it was no longer working and the little "DSI FLT" light next to the switch in the bathroom was on. If i flipped the switch off, waited a few seconds and then back on, that little light would come on, then go out and i would hear something click back by the heater that sounded like it was trying light or something, but no worky, and that little light would come back on again. I know it's getting gas, i can light that with a long fire starter type lighter, but it will not light on its own or stay lit if i light it manually. I took the electrode dealy out and used some emery cloth to clean it up (seems to work on our home furnace so i gave it a shot) but no change. I did see a spark at one time but it seemed to be weak, so maybe a module or something finally gave out.
I believe it is a Suburban heater but to be honest i am not 100% sure and unfortunately i cannot find my manuals. Anything else i can check? if it is a electrical component what should i be replacing? Everything appears to be functioning fine except for the spark and flame feed back to keep it lit.
The electric heater works fine and i have hookups this weekend so I fortunately don't have to have it fixed today. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
