Again Welcome to the Kz family
Another point and you may already heard this before an know it, when you do your PDI make sure they
show you a number of times how things work along the list below, your PDI should be no shorter than
four maybe more hours. Don't let them hurry you, make sure it's a Tech, not your salesman so if there
is a minor problem he or she can either note it for repair or fix it on the spot.
Most of these things have been listed an discussed on this board an others one time or another being
a problem or things to look for. This is to say that they are a problem, most times they are not, but
like a boy scout you should always be prepared
Most of all do not sign anything before you PDI is done and things are fixed to your liking, don't
let them put you off. As many of us know it may take a month or two to get back into their shop
for any repairs under warranty. This is a busy time of the year for all RV dealer both selling and
repairing unit for summer.
1.Take pictures
2.write things down
3.make them open and close slides all the way, make sure they are open all the way.
Note: I thought I did this, when I got home I found out that my bedroom slide only
opened two thirds, was lacking about 8 to 10 inches from opening, I thought about it
when I was outside looking at it but never went back inside to make sure, sure enough
it didn't open because of two screws in the bed fame being to long ...
4. turn on all the fossets even in the shower, flush the toilet at least 3 times for a
minute maybe two so allot of water runs into the gray tank, make sure there is no leaks
let the water run while looking under the sink.
5. Turn on the stove, make sure it lights on all burners including the oven
6. Ask how light bulbs in lights can be changed out
7. open a close all cabinet doors to make sure door hings work an not broke or loose
8. look at wheel alignment,
Example, while looking from the front to the back make sure the tires line up and are
straight not out of line.
9. Check all locks that they work, lock them try them unlock them, open all doors after you
have unlocked them to make sure they open.
10. Ask fro a creeper, check underside for anything hanging down out of place.
11. Check roof for anything out of place or missing, rips, holes
12. Make sure if you have an air conditioner it works and cools properly
13. Make sure the heater works, make then turn the heat on an let it warn up if possible
14. Turn water heater on, make sure you have hot water and plenty of it, let it run a few minutes
15. Open and close the awnings, make sure you know where the switches are for them.
16. Since you have run clean water into all the tanks, gay and black, have them
show you how you can drain/open both gray an black tanks.(See Note Below)
Note: This is a fun thing to do if you want, since it's a new trailer and you have
only run clean water into all the tanks they should have no problem opening the values
to both on the spot were your PDI is being done ... Make sure you watch the look on their
face's while doing such ... I they say they can't then ask the question has it been used ?
again this is up to you, but it sure is fun to do 17. Check all tires for proper air pressure
18.
Come to Kz Rally this summer to show your new 5th Wheel off ... Have fun and safe travels
Chuck
