I doubt that the frame warranty would ever be needed (within the warranty period), but if it did ... I’m sure I could find a Rotoflex pin box, if needed. It (the MorRYDE pin box) is standard equipment on many 5th wheels (Forrest River and Montana for example). I don’t know if Lippert makes the frames for either one, but it is likely in that Lippert is very dominant in the RV frame world. BTW, I do feel a slight difference between the two. The MorRYDE has a “softer” feel when starting and stopping ... the sensation is that it's a little looser. When actually towing, no discernible difference. is it the pin box or the IS suspension that is making it ride softer???

It is at the hitch point that I feel the difference. It’s not a part of the ride, which is where the IS comes into play. I only feel this “softness” on initial startup or when stopping where the pin box is interacting with the hitch. I have thousands of miles with both and the difference is subtle, but there. Most infrequent towers probably wouldn’t notice it.

Excerpt from Lippert 1year limited warranty;
This Limited Warranty does not cover abuse, misuse or neglect which includes (without limitation) damages caused by: improper usage, overloading, accidents, unreasonable use, improper loading, incorrect weight bias loading, improper wheel nut torque, improper operation, improper repair, improper maintenance, improper connection to towing unit, normal wear and tear, driving at excessively high speeds while towing or attempted repair by anyone other than an authorized representative of LIPPERT COMPONENTS. This Limited Warranty does not cover chemical damage caused by acids, fuel, oil or other chemicals. Rust formation is not covered. This warranty does not cover any Product which is found to have been modified or altered in any way, including, but not limited to, installation of any and all aftermarket hauling attachments such as gooseneck adapters, pinbox extensions, tow hitches, load bearing devices, or other attachments to the Product. LIPPERT COMPONENTS will not be liable for commitments or agreements made by any of its employees, agents, or dealers not in accordance with this warranty. The use of this unit as part of a rental fleet, or use for a commercial purpose, voids the warranty
Just an FYI about the warranty.
Many, many RVers have made the switch to the MORryde IS Suspension and pin box without incident, but if it is done within the warranty period it will void the chassis warranty. Why make it hard on yourself to receive warranty service if needed, it is already difficult enough.

UPDATE: Lippert does make the frames for both Forrest River and Montana. It would be a lawyers dream to have Lippert explain how they decline warranty on one manufacturer while honoring it on others ... “vibrations” caused by the pin box would be the same so I don’t know how they could pull that one off. ......and here is something else for your consideration
TOWABLE LIMITED WARRANTY Two Year Limited Warranty SUMMARY OF WARRANTY: KZRV warrants the structure of every towable recreational vehicle or truck camper purchased from an authorized KZRV dealer to the first retail consumer for a period of two (2) years, to be free from substantial defects in materials and workmanship when used for its intended purpose. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase or the date the unit is first placed in service, whichever is earlier. For purposes of this Towable Limited Warranty (“TLW”), the term “structure” includes the interior and exterior sidewalls, floor, roof, and frame. EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY: Excluded from coverage under the TLW are: (1) items added, changed, or modified after the unit left the possession of KZRV;

Yeah ... that language is very common. They warranty what they sold you and won't warranty what you changed. From their point of view they warranty what they sold you and that's that. This is a reasonable point of view, IMO. For example, they wouldn't warranty the MORryde IS or anything that they can attribute to it. As I said, very unlikely that the frame would fail DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD, so this is "cover your ass" language developed by lawyers. There is a difference between the "letter of the law" and "the spirit and intent" of the law. At Caterpillar, we often covered non warranty items as though they were under warranty under the provisions of "goodwill". I doubt that KZ or Lippert would be so generous or far sighted. Consumers often think of warranty as "protection" ... manufacturers think of warranty as "plausiable deniability" or "liability limitation". I have worked in that world for much of my adult life, so I went into this with my eyes wide open. I think I'm pretty much on my own if there is a frame failure due to the modifications I have made ... even though those modifications substantially improved the product. But that's OK with me.

When we bought our trailer we were looking at Montana's, all of them had the MorRyde pin box on them at the RV show we attended. So I started looking at Different trailer including the newer Montana's at the RV parks an was supersized that they all had MorRyde pin boxes on them.. Some but not had the MorRyde suspension on them as well, when asked if the MorRyde stuff came with the the trailer they all stated yes ...
As a Side note if you look in the new issue of Trailer Life I see an ad in there for there new steps, they sure look allot like the MorRyde steps with just a very few changes ...
Also as I stated before changing from the MorRyde pin box back to the LCI pin box I saw very little difference except as ronc stated starting an stopping which may have been my 5th wheel but the ride was the same ...
Lastly I talked with the Forever Warranty people about changing to the MorRyde pin box, they stated as long as it was a known MFG company like LCI or MorRyde they had no problems covering any problems as long as it was installed by a RV Dealer or RV repair Shop an not Joe blow backyard mechanic an you had a receipt to prove such ...
Safe Travels

Yeah ... not really worried about the warranty issues. If not covered by “warranty”, then covered by my purchased insurance and if not by them then self insured ... no matter which way it goes, I’m VERY COMFORTABLE with my choices. I’m most interested in providing the highest quality ride for my trailer and it’s contents that is possible. I believe that is a an Air Ride Hitch and the MORRYDE Independent Suspension. So I made the investment and took my chances.

ronc I agree with you, even thought I switch back to the other hitch I still have my MorRyde an will change back after the two year warranty is up, I'm not tempting fate at the moment I am not saying either pin box is wrong, I like you an other owners only want the best for my trailer so it will last, this in our case more than likely it will be our last ... BTW I'm making a new bean bag board how big you want the holes Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi

That's not fair... You're getting a start on next years rally. Congratulations on finally getting the new furniture. I know you are glad the wait is over. You are right about that! We had a pretty good summer during the wait ... went to Camp Perry, which is a very nice little RV park near Port Clinton ... open to the public. Port Clinton is an Ohio secret ... great little town with a lot to do. I played Firestone (Golf course for the non golfers), went to Canton to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame, went to Niagara Falls, then Gettysburg and back to Shipshewana. I could go on, but suffice it to say the two month wait was time well spent. See you next year at the rally I hope.

LOL, I know Port Clinton very well, I hauled wall board out of there for about 3 years, in fact I had my name in the local paper at one time:) "Truck Driver Hits Dog Driven Volkswagen", was the talk of the town for at least a week. Thought I didn't killed the dog an only scared him, every time he heard my truck go by he would hide in his dog house an not come out for a few days Ugh ... While you were there you needed to go to Puttin Bay, lots of wine shops an tavern's. We use to dock like four or five boats out an never make it to the dock because everyone was offering you a drink LOL Those were really lost weekends an I still wonder how we ever got the boat back to Toledo at the dock Ugh, glad it was a 36ft 12ft wide cruiser double planked with fly bridge an weighing in a 6tons so it could handle the waves pretty well Safe Travels my friend Chuck
