Hey everyone I'm new to the forum but have spent quite a bit of time reading through threads learning as much as I can. I recently purchased a used 2013 1500 Durango 296BH. I'm pretty happy with the camper so far but one thing I'm confused about is the holding tanks. I have the usual dump tube with the black and gray valve handles. But I also have a second tube with a single dump handle towards the back of the camper where the second bathroom is. I figured the second one was a separate tank just for the rear bathroom but when dumping the other day I put a hose into the toilet of the back bathroom to flush it out and it didn't appear any water came out the back dump tube. I've also noticed I have a rocker switch on my control panel that can be switched from main tank to aux. I wanted to see if anyone had some insight as to how this system works. Is the aux tank just and over flow of the main black tank? My only option is to pull the underbelly down and start tracing pipes to attemp to figure out this system. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, welcome to the group! The back dump handle is for the second bathroom and will contain both the gray and the black water from it, if I remember correctly. If you put water into the back and nothing came out, it makes me wonder if your valve is stuck or maybe the handle is broke.
I also have a main/aux switch, but I don't think it actually does anything. Not sure what that's used for.

Johnr, thank you for the reply. I will try and fill the tank and then try and dump it again. I may have just not noticed the water coming out Maybe I will go get a partially clear hose so I can tell for sure what's going on. It feels like the gate is opening by the tension on the handle. I've already replaced the cable for the front black tank valve because it was broken.

Does anyone know how big the second rear black/grey tank is. I've been looking online and can't find anywhere that references it or it's size. Any help is appreciated

phantom2016 from what I can figure out and from specs I have found all of your waste tanks 1 gray, 1 black, 1gray/black should be 32gallons each. your fresh tank should be 55gallons.

johnr on your Durango you should have 4 tanks 1 fresh 1black 1gray bathroom, 1gray galley. Your main/aux switch will switch between the gray tanks so you can check the levels. On mine the main is the gray bathroom and the aux is the gray galley.

Thanks for the info jetzen. It would make sense for them to all be the sam size. I've just not been able to find anything that references the tank for the back bathroom at all. Thanks for the help

Oh hey, I thought I only had 3 tanks because I only have 1 gray water pull. Not sure how I would ever know unless I opened up the belly.

I don't have a back bathroom. I was just trying to help phantom2016 because he has the same RV as my brother-in-law.

Ok, not a problem We only have one bathroom but have three pulls, the nice thing I like about ours is that all the tanks empty into one outlet We have a couple of camping friends that have two outlets, pain in the backside to empty tanks, one person is modifying his 3 year old 5th wheel to have everything drain into one outlet after he seen ours.

The switch, now I know what it does, two gray tanks I should have known.
