jetzen, I fugured out why the bedroom slide wasn't opening all the way, Thanks to you jetzen for asking the tech about my problem I Lifted up the bed/mattress, pull out the folding dining room chairs, In there I found the panel with a thumb hole in it about 1" to left the panel. However it didn't have the 4 hold down screws holding the panel down, I just lifted the panel an there was slide mechanism (Big grin). I checked to see if there was any obstructions in the slide mechanism, sure nought there was 2 screws that appeared to be way to long. I opened the slide and sure enough the side stopped were the 2 screws were. I slid the slide in just a bit, folded myself under the bed with all my tools and took out the two screws each 3inches long, 2 inches longer than they should have been, slide works great now Yahoooooooooooooo ! That just goes to show you that old guys think they look everyplace but miss things that is right in front of them. If I would have lifted the one darn chair I would have seen the 1 inch hole and thought to myself "oh I wonder if that's were you can see the slide assembly " Daaaaaaaaaa So slide now works like a charm, so now I just have to find out about the darn TV, if it's me or the system, will do that Monday at local RV place, they owe me a favor

Edd505, everything seemed to work as it is supposed to. the only thing I am not sure of at this time on the televisions is the satellite hookup and if there are any leaks from the roof or from missed caulking. I tried to go over it as closely as possible, I inspected all the places were I thought it would be possible to miss sealing and found none. The trailer had just been washed and I found no sign of possible water leakage. I know that is not a real good test but until the trailer sits in some very inclement weather you may never know if it leaks.
Chuck glad you found the problem with your slide but now for the 10 million dollar question, what did the 2 screws hold down???

LOL jetson If you look under the bed there is two covers, the one closest to you is the one that covers the slide motor etc, there is another cover just ahead of that under the head of the bed, this is the one that had the long screws in it .... There is a metal plate maybe 7 or 8 inches wide across from one side of the slide railing to the other, the wood cover was attached on the backside of this metal cross bar/cross member. I measured from the front of this cross bar/member in three inches on the bottom of the cross member to the bottom of the screw hanging down ... I believe this cross member is to give the slide railing strength so it won't flex. This is where the two screws were, they were per my tap ruler 3 inches in, about 10 or 11 inches in from the bed side, but the screw heads were right at the edge of the wood cover. Thus they were screwed in on an angle, never the less on an angle and not straight, I think this might have been an after thought, ( hey were forgot to put those screws in, here a couple of 3 inch screw that should work an not hurt anything ) Makes me think like the tech did, an as I did while testing the bedroom slide function from the control panel we heard the clattering of the slide motor when it hit the stops thinking it was open all the way, but it wasn't ... As i told the wife today, I had noticed the left window edge against the trailer when looking at stuff on the driver side of the the trailer and thought to myself "is that slide all the way open" I made a note to myself to do a check inside but we moved onto other things an close the slide thus I didn't check till I got home.. I still wonder what the loud bang was when I back up the trailer in the dealers parking lot, no where can I find any dents in the unit anywhere. There was no other trailers or a building even close, so was it our trailer making the noise or did someone close by hit or drop something to make me think I hit something... Again I have not moved the trailer since we got it home after backing into the driveway, if there was a problem with the frame I believe I would have heard it on our gravel lane with all the pot holes in it, an I have to go to a roundabout at the end of the lane ... Thus flexing/pulling the trailer to the left and the right Anyway, glad you got to at least crawl around in the new digs, now it's going to be a couple of nights dreaming of all the good times you will have in it ..... Have fun

Edd505, I have come to the conclusion that there will always be something wrong and to be honest with you it also seems to me that the more expensive the unit is the more things you will find wrong. The DW and I were at the Tampa show this January for 2 days. We were looking to buy and had a few brands in mind. It seemed like the units that were show priced at like $90,000+ were not fairing well at the show. They were falling apart before your eyes. The Durango's, Montana's, Alpine's were holding up the best to show traffic. The Durango are not even close to being the fanciest, best equipped but they seem to be pretty solid units. Time will tell.

Ok, 4 month update on the 384rlt Still love the floorplan, space and general comfort of the unit. No problem with the tires, auto-level is still magical. However, we have had a few problems. Our RV dealer found the mounting bracket for the unusual steps was cracking so ordered a replacement unit. On our last trip (6th in total) the bedroom slide started acting up and the wood frame in the bedroom actually separated.
We took it to our dealer for warranty work, they found that with the new steps it still showed a tendency to over flex. In other words it would probably crack and fail again. They are going to try and modify it so it will swing in and out and not over flex. Hopefully they will figure out a fix, this is a design problem. The bedroom slide had started binding and twisting. The service folks explained that the units moved in and out on small nylon slides under the bed. Unfortunately the bedroom is too heavy for these slides, they are not adequate. After discussing with the factory they are going to install rollers. Again a design problem. Unit is still in the shop. I'll check back in a few weeks with an update. I'd have your dealer look into these issues, if its happening on mine due to design issues, probably the same for you. Regards, Larkin

RV is in the shop, will post observations and pics after I pick it up. We are going camping Wednesday, so will get a chance to check everything out. * New steps, apparently there has been a minor re-design. (yes they did hit the fender a bit and seemed to over flex) We'll see what they look like. * Bedroom slide-out binding: factory recommended 2 rollers, after install still issues so adding a 3rd roller. (in place of slides I assume) * Shower door shattered! Big mess glass everywhere. No idea what happened as it was latched. New door ordered and installed. I'm going to add a bungee! * Fridge (dbl door rv type) doors would not close properly, nylon washer installed on left door to lift it up just a bit, seems to be just fine now. hoping to pickup tomorrow, will post pics and results later this week. Still love the trailer, tows very easily, just a bit tricky to back up and negotiate tight turns. Both TV's do work but with only one dish receiver we just watch the main one. I tried the rear one for grins with the antenna and then cable, seemed to work fine. (as fine as grainy cable with no HD will work in most parks.) Regards, Larkin

Ok Larkin Have not seen the problem with the steps in ours, but saying such as I posted in another thread the steps do hit the fender slightly. We had to add an aluminum sheeting between the 2nd and 3rd step so our Great Dane would not put his leg thought the opening, so I am hoping we do not have to replace the steps and go thought that mod again. I have noted the mod and will talk with MorRyde about maybe making this a permit installation for people with larger dogs so they will not put the leg between the steps and brake such ... Ok on the bedroom slide, we have only been out a few time with ours and the slide may have been opened maybe a dozen times, but maybe this needs to be addressed at the Kz Rally while there at the factory... I did find out this past weekend that our furnace stop working, fan come on but you can hear the ingnitor try to ignite but no luck ...Will call dealer today and see if I can get a quick appointment to have it looked at since we are going camping week after next again... As you said the trailer pull very easy, I drove truck on an off for a number of years so backing is not a big issue unless it's really, really tight. (after say such, watch the next time I have to back in someplace it will take 4 times a long LOL) The other thing I would have like to seen is that they would have put in from the factory would have been a CD player, the DW loves her movies when it's raining out. It's not hard to installing such I just wish they would have put one in Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck

You don't have a CD player? I have a radio/DVD/CD combo unit in mine. Can't believe they would have taken that out of the Gold.

Yep, I have a radio with surround sound but no DVD/CD player, ask Tech when doing PDI and he stated they didn't come with one Ugh ... Another thing to ask why at the Rally, added to my list Chuck

Yep starting with 2017 no more cd/dvd. Was told by the KZ rep consumer info says everybody streams now ( Everybody who), so they got rid of the cd/dvd and added Bluetooth. I got a cheap blue ray player for $39.00 that will also play old dvd's and installed it. Seems to work pretty good.

Everybody streams now... at campgrounds where WiFi doesn't generally exist or is really poor?
You can tell that whoever made that decision doesn't RV regularly or goes to a place that has great WiFi. There is only one place we go that even offers WiFi, and it is spotty at best depending on how far from the office you are. We go to a few places that we can't even use our cell phones to make calls.
Hopefully you bring this up at the Rally and tell them the real world needs CD/DVD players for RV entertainment.

johnr I have it on my list with a few other things to ask about Itully I check our steps yesterday, yep small amount of flex in the floor when the steps go up and down, jetzen I'll bet your is doing the same thing, note added to my KZ question Factory list ... New problem On our last trip out our furnace stop working, you can hear the unit come on, fan running etc, but it will not ignite the propane and thus no heat ADDED NOTE: yes both propane tanks are full before you ask LOL Called dealer yesterday about our furnace not working, they said that they might fit me in around August. I said that we would be back at the Kz factory that month, "oh" said the service Tech, then she said "why don't you get it fixed there", my DW said thank you, we will ... Now wouldn't you think when someone is going back to the home office and would be talking with the managers and people back there that they might have a hint that someone would say something about their service. I do realize that this is a very busy time of the year for my dealer, they are very large and handle 10 different brands of trailers, but the least they could do is check the system out and order parts if needed and we could bring the trailer back. They have been pretty good up to this point and I know that they have a large shop, they did say if I was going by another Kz dealer on our trip back east they would authorize repair but it may take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks to get parts at any dealer Ugh ... Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck
