Anyone else have a faded nose cone? 2014 Durango 5th. KZ had told me no warranty because I am the second owner. Not very happy that they only support 1st owners and not their actual product.

The fading was a common problem, for several years, on a number of brands. I would suggest doing a search for faded front caps and see what others did for a remedy.

Hi rydog, this would be my recommendation. 3m makes 2 products. You will need to figure out exactly how faded your front cap is. If it will clean up with wax and last for a short period of time then I would try some 3m finesse-it with a slow speed buffer using a foam egg crate compounding pad then wax to seal. The finesse-it product will rejuvenate and moisturize faded gelcoat. However it will need to be done every year. The second 3m product is called perfect-it. It is used when the fading is more severe. It also will rejuvenate and moisturize gelcoat. It is applied the same way as the finesse-it product, then wax to seal. After the first year you can most likely get away with using just the finesse-it. JMHO
Just to let you know you will never stop the fading process once it starts without major work (like a paint job).

rydog I will add that most RV manufacturers will tell you the same thing, "sorry you bought a used RV an we only honor new owners" We have owned both Used Forest River and Coachmen products and both would not honor any type of warranties....An example was we bought a used Coachmen that needed a new roof that was only three years old because the first own must have did some an put a patch on it...I called Coachmen an ask if the had any record of the roof being repaired since Coachmen has a ten year warranty on their 5th wheel Coachmen Chapperals, comment was since you are the second owner were sorry but warranty was only for the first owner, have a nice day .... Same thing when buying a used car or truck for the most part, warranties except for recalls go away never to return sad to say
