I just purchased a new-to-me 2007 KZ Escalade Sportster 5th wheel Toyhauler. When I got home with it I plugged into a 110 outlet and everything(microwave, fridge, fireplace) worked. On Saturday I picked up an adapter to bring the 4 prong cord(50 amp)to three prong to fit an outlet in my garage. When I plugged it in the plug arced. My girlfriend was in the hauler at the time and when I went inside she said there had been a "pop" around microwave and when I checked there was no longer power to the microwave, fridge, & fireplace. I checked the circuit breakers and found the breaker for the fireplace was tripped and wouldn't reset. I'm not sure if the hauler circuit breakers are like a normal house breaker that you pull out to replace? Any thoughts?

Sounds like you have a 240 volt outlet in the garage. If a double breaker powers it, who knows how many things are damaged.

I seriously hope your camper is insured. I fear you may have just put 240 volts through appliances designed for 120. I would suggest you bite the bullet and get a professional involved before going any further.

Kind of had the same fears! Hoping only the converter went but am prepared for the worse! Thanks for the input, taking it to a shop when I get home from work Friday.

It may be worth getting an electrician in to look at what's up with the outlet as well and make any necessary changes.
