I am having leaking issue with my 2016 KZ Spree Connect. First they found a slice in the black water flush line up by the tank. Dealer fixed that and supposedly did a pressure check. The first time I used it after that I noticed dripping back in the rear where you hook up the hose to the flush valve line underneath. Are these flush valve lines really worth the hassle? We had to replace the insulation in the floor and prop up the plastic under belly due to the first leak as it bowed it badly. I thought I would always like this but it has turned into a real headache and my gauge for that tank never shows empty. The best it shows is 1/3 full.

There is a vacuum breaker inside close to the hose connection. That device will expel water under certain conditions. I eliminated mine. Not sure if that is your biggest problem, but it will drip water.

Thanks, but yesterday I unscrewed the outside connector. Pulled out the hose about four inches. I had the hose hooked up to it so turned the water on and WALLA found the leak at the connection. Simply tightened it down. A great feeling. Now I am drying out the insulation which was still damp underneath from this leak.

My vacuum breaker was cracked. Took it out and replaced it with a brass one. Seems like there is always a small amount of water that stays in the vacuum breaker and could possibly freeze in the winter. May be why mine cracked. Now I shoot some antifreeze in mine for the winter. No more problems.

I have not seen anything like a vacuum breaker. What does it do?

I have not seen anything like a vacuum breaker. What does it do? See page 10 of this catalog: Flusher

I believe I misstated what my problem was. It wasn't a vacuum breaker that cracked, it was a back flow preventer on the tank flusher.

Sorry guys, I looked at the catalog page that Lynnmor posted, and that is exactly what cracked on mine, and leaked. It is a vacuum breaker, but it also keeps water from back flowing into your fresh water line. I caught mine before it did any damage.

Sorry guys, I looked at the catalog page that Lynnmor posted, and that is exactly what cracked on mine, and leaked. It is a vacuum breaker, but it also keeps water from back flowing into your fresh water line. I caught mine before it did any damage. Now if you look closely at the page, you can read where the vacuum breaker is not to be installed where the water it expels will do harm. KZ had mine next to the silverware drawer and above the electrical inlet. Yes, they will spew water under certain conditions even if in "perfect" condition. I eliminated mine and made sure there was a check valve in the inlet. End of problem. For the water to flow back to the hydrant, the blank tank will need to be nearly full, the check valve needs to fail, the water pressure needs to drop below zero and the hydrant would need to be opened and have no vacuum breaker. It's a plumbing code thing, but my code is clean silverware, dry floor and dry electrical parts.
