We would like to keep our 2016 Spree Escape in good condition, so are looking for recommendations on exterior surface care. We plan to wash periodically and perhaps wax once or twice a year. So, do any of you have someplace do this for you? Or do you do it yourself? If so, what cleaning/waxing products do you recommend? Also, I see that Thetford produces a special lubricant for the rubber seals on the slides. Is this essentially the same as silicone spray?
We live in Southern California and because we use the trailer frequently year around we can't see the advantage of a cover.
Thanks in advance!

I have a Spree 32BHS with fiberglass siding. The deal recommended McGuire s Marine Flagship wash and wax. Been using it a couple of times a year. Its been sitting outside for three years and still looks like new. For the rubber seals I use Aero Space 303 Protectant. Kind of pricey but it works well.

I use NuFinish, easy to apply and polish. I think that the most damage to a trailer is from sun exposure, not winter weather. A cover is difficult to put on so indoor storage is the best.

For wax, I use Meguiars Cleaner Wax over the entire exterior. On my 5er, I have the fiberglass front cap. After I use the cleaner wax, I go back over the front cap with Meguiars Liquid Glass.
It is definitely a process to go through. I keep mine in a pole barn, so I only need to do this once a year. It doesn't get the constant weather that others do.
I'll usually wash the bugs off of the front cap once every couple of outings. With the cleaner wax and the liquid glass, it doesn't take much to get them off. Then probably twice during the summer I'll spend the time giving the entire RV a good washing.
I still haven't found a good method to wash the awning. It's an automatic one and I can't pull it down at all.

I've been told one way to clean the awning is to spray the cleaner on it, roll it up, and let it stand for 45 min or so, unroll and spray off with water, no scrubbing. I have not tried it, but heard that it works.

I have the Carefree awning with a series of holes to lower it a bit. I still have to stand on a step ladder to wash it. I would pay extra for a good old manual awning, I hate this useless thing.
