We were stunned to find a pool of water soaking the cushions, table and carpet in the dinette area after opening up our trailer after the winter storage this past April. We have never had a leak, ever. When we had the insurance co take a look they said it was a total loss and that it was due to the roof leaking because of poor maintenance. Needless to say nothing was covered. We eventually brought it to a local RV repair shop, not a dealer, they determined it was from the slide-out (which was in for the winter btw), not the roof. Their solution was to put an awning over the slide out. Also, we now are seeing tiny hard bumps on the interior wall of the bedroom. These were not there four months ago. Any similar issues?? Can we expect that this is just the way RV's eventually deteriorate. We are so disappointed. Is KZ just a poor quality camper or will we just have these same issues with any travel trailer? We bought this brand new and took good care of it. We had a pop-up for over ten years, no leaking issues. Just so disheartened.

Is KZ just a poor quality camper or will we just have these same issues with any travel trailer? Yes and yes. You might want to have a mobile repair guy take a look at the trailer for another opinion. Ask if he might want to take on the repairs as an off-season project. The idea of using a slideout cover is fine, but it is only a bandaid for the real issue you have.

So have you had these same issues? In the end are you saying they all eventually leak and what is the solution? Do you know what the tiny bumps on the interior wall might be? How soon do you throw in the towel? Can they ever really be repaired without taking the walls off and having it cost more to repair than what it is worth? This experience makes us not want to buy another one. What did we do wrong?

I keep mine garaged when not in use, so weather is not a big problem.
In general, RV's are thrown together and leaks are common. Without seeing your problem, it is not possible to say what caused it.

Hi. If your slide leaked when it was in, I'd check your slide seals on the top and sides to make sure they are soft and pliable as well as making full contact and are compressing when closed. I don't know what a slide awning is going to get you, it's not going to resolve the actual issue.
If an RV repair place tells you that it's not the roof, can't you go back to your insurance company with that information and ask for a re-evaluation?

Thank you so much for your replies. We are going back to the insurance co since the repair place said it was not the roof. We just had another leak, we think last night with the slide in, and we think the window is the culprit this time since the only wet area are two od the cushions against the window. I guess I am just stunned that we have had this camper for six seasons and it has been completely dry, really not a leak. Now all of a sudden major leaks.
