Hi - we are picking up our new 2016 Vision 22BHS on Friday. It has one slide-out and does not have a topper.
We are thinking about asking the dealer to install one before we pick it up. I'm going to call and see how much it would cost - but, curious if other users added one and if not - did you have any issues with sticks / rain / leaks / sun rot / etc...

I have 5 slides on my 5er. All the rails are in place over the slides, just a matter of buying toppers and putting them on. I'll be interested in seeing responses. On a side note, a couple downsides I have heard: noisy if windy, especially in bedroom areas at night. Makes it difficult to clean top of slide/inspect seals.

I plan on installing over all three slides. It is pain to carry a ladder and a brush. Set up and climb the ladder and sweep off the tops. On our last Rv it only had a single slide and was not all that high off the ground. I would take a old bath towel tie a rope in the middle. Throw the towel over the slide, pulling on the rope would drag the towel over the slide cleaning off the debris. Doesn't work on the new Rev. To tall and the rope cuts into the rubber roof at the edges.

We have a Vision 23BHS with one slide. We carry a small ladder & a broom to clear the roof of the slide. We also have a small leaf blower that we bring if we remember.

Slide toppers have lots of Pros and Cons. Using them is an individual choice. I currently have them on my Escalade. One thing to watch is the rail on the rv that you attach the topper to. The factory installed an extruded aluminum rail about 6-8" above the slide on the trailer wall screwing it in about every 6". The topper simply slides into the rail while the roller mounts on the edge of the slide. Works well except that the screws holding the rail onto the rv only hold onto the thin fiberglas/plastic skin of the rv side. There is nothing to hold onto the screw behind the fiberglas/plastic rv skin and in time the rail will pull out. I have redrilled the rail and rescrewed it into the rv but in time that too will pull out. Looking at drilling totally through the wall and using carriage bolts but that has other problems. Anyway ...something to think about. If you could find studs to attach to it might work better but not sure how I do that.

wfcentral, I've had toppers on a previous 5TH wheel, yes there are pros and cons. On our fourth 5er now and have decided to forgo the toppers. Why you ask? Tired of being woke up in the early AM from the flapping because of the wind and the pooling water after a hard rain. Now I carry along a ladder and a long handled broom/brush, a bit more work on my part but it works for me. Most of the time nothing is up there. But then again that depends on where you are. Happy Camping....
