Well I became a proud (hopefully) new owner of a 2017 Sportster 18th last week . I replaced a Forrest River wolf pup that I bought 3 years ago . I initially bought the Pup as it had the 2 bunks up front and the couch in the rear. When I am not camping with the Harley we used the Pup to go to a lot of races ( dirt track and pavement open wheel races) and I didnt like the idea of the units with 2 couches in the rear and everyone getting real cozy at bed time especially if one or more of us had our party faces on all night . The pup served us well and the last outing was a week in Indiana for all the racing the end of May. I do that race thing in Indiana every year . My first intentions were to sell the pup and buy a class c motor home and an enclosed trailer for the bike but as I pondered my selling the pup ( I wondered if I had done the right thing?) I made a decision to possibly find another toy hauler with a little more space and more comfort like a bigger bathroom !. I have a Silverado 1500 so I didnt want anything huge but I wanted more room. I saw this 18TH advertised about 2 hours from where I live here in Michigan and they also had some wolf pack and nitro toy haulers so after finally convincing myself I needed to go look and I really wanted to be able to get in the truck and go if it was raining while we were camping with the bike so away we went for a look see. It only took the wife opening the bathroom door to decide this was exactly what we were looking for. A little more sleeping room for another person would have been even better but I think my 2 boys and I can make this work just fine. There is room to sleep one more on the floor if need be . Ive been working at getting everything aboard since last Wednesday July 13th when I picked it up and so far so good. When I went to get it of course they have to give you the tour like its not your first rodeo and they told me 3 hours and I told them I am bringing a bank check and I will give you an hour We got it done in an hour 15 then I hooked up and left for home. One of the things I found strange but maybe not in the rv world after all the mods I did to my other trailer was the guy giving me the tour lifted up the corner of the front queen bed and said look there is a hinged compartment right here for storage . I looked and said ok ? where does the stuff go that you put in there as this is open to all the under the front storage ? I got it home and the very next morning I cut some 1/4 inch plywood and enclosed that small section so its true storage accessed from under the mattress ! . I also added another piece behind the hot water tank for added protection. Still plenty of storage in the pass thru storage area . I fixed one valance over the window that wasn't even close to straight or centered and instead of just setting my TV on the top of the fridge in the rear I mounted a wall mount arm to the cabinet right next to it that houses the microwave in one end. While I was at it I tapped into the under cabinet 12 volt light over the sink and added a 3 hole cigarette lighter panel so I can just run the TV on 12 volts and have a couple outlets for phone charging. The Drive stereo system is way cool as it has AM/FM/CD/DVD/SD/USB all built in but the remote absolutely sucks ? I am going to try a new battery but I dont think thats the problem . I may have to contact the dealer about that . Other than that our first outing will be next weekend . All the camp grounds have been booked up but I found one for then. The only thing I have left to do is I am adding a mount under the unit right under the pantry and radio cabinet for hookups for my Amateur Radio gear. I like to play a little radio while I am out camping . I will post some pics soon of what I have done so far if anyone is interested . Also I think from what ive seen this a pretty new model for KZ ?
