Hello,
We recently purchased an Escape 196S and love it. I am wondering, however, how to drain the fresh water tank. I see a hose coming down from beneath the trailer that has a significant amount of spray foam attached to it. Is the drain valve down there, or do I need to pull the bottom bunk to find the drain. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks!!
Mike

Hi, not sure specifically about the Escape. On most RVs, you'll see 3 drain tubes underneath. Two of them are generally together (sometimes colored blue and red) and are called low point drains. These allow you to drain your inner plumbing.
The one that is normally by itself is the fresh water tank drain. This one usually has a quick valve release on it.

The one that is directly beneath the fresh water tank is covered in spray foam. I may need to break some of that off to see if there is actually a valve on there. Thanks! SaveSave

Don't break off the foam! Under the lower bunk follow the smaller line/hose at the bottom of the tank. There is a small plastic (mine is white) valve. Pull on the top of the valve and it will drain. It shouldn't take much effort so if you have to pull real hard you are most likely pulling from the wrong place on the valve or not on the valve at all. My camper is not accessible at the moment, otherwise I would include a picture.

I don't know why they screwed down the board. That seemed odd to me too.
Edit: thinking about it, they only thing I can come up with is that they may have done it for legal reasons in case a child climbs in.

no reason to screw down board, my 2015 lifts right up, plus gives access to the pump. like stated before, there is a white pull valve on side of tank. you pull up on it. but not too hard as it is made of cheap plastic.
