We just lost our awning on the rear of the Fifthwheel. There was a mild rain coming in so I retracted in so it was only sticking out about a foot to keep the rain off the sliding glass. A gust of wind (maybe 15mph) came in and ripped it off, luckily landing on the roof. After doing some research on the carefree awning, there are suppose to be some brackets used to mount the awning, which were not installed. They just screwed into the fiberglass with no sealant.
I contacted KZ about this and they said it was an insurance issue due to the wind. You can clearly see they was little effort put into the design of this. Were the support poles connect to the back are loose and hardly hold it at all (from being pulled up). I was planning on tying it down to the railing at some point but to late and highly recommend doing this.

My experience is if you contact KZ directly they don't want to cover build issues but if you go through the dealer you bought from you may get it covered.
