We just bought a 2017 sportsmans classic toy hauler. I dont like that the shower walls are plywood with wall paper. Also its only cauked midway and down low. No sealant up high in corners? Salesman says you dont need it??
Anybody make their own shower walls that look more like a shower enclosure? What material do I use and where can I buy it? I was thinking waterproof liquid nails and very shallow screws to attach it
thabks for any info...

We saw the same issue on our unit. We ended up running a bead of calk all along the top edge to keep the water from getting behind the shower walls. We were told the same thing but didn't want to chance the moisture behind there. We will see after a few showers how the wall holds up above the shower liner and look into what else may be needed.

Im gonna caulk mine also with the clear geocell rv sealant...Were also gonna make a shower curtain liner that somehow hangs on the inside to keep all water off walls and directs water into shower pan

I have a feeling we will need to do something similar as well, will probably get a pressure mounted shower curtain holder and hang a full length curtain along the back wall into the tub. We have a window in one on the bathrooms in our house and had to do the same thing to keep the water off the window framing.

I had the same problem with my Spree Escape 196S The walls are covered in vinyl wallpaper. I do not think it will take long for the water to get past the paper. Soooo I covered the walls in the shower with FRP, fiberglass reinforced plastic. You can buy it in Home Depot in 4x8 sheets then cut it and use FRP adhesive to glue it to the walls. Anyway that is what I did.
