Have new Ford F-150 heavy duty tow package, WDH with 1000# bars, 850-900 # of tongue weight. Added air bags, still have the dreaded porpoising if road is not glass smooth. any ideas??

Hi. Is your WDH set up correctly? Is the weight distributed evenly across your trailer or is it heavy in the front/back?
I'm sorry, I don't remember what trailer you have.

General rule of thumb is, if the truck is bouncing too much, there is too much weight on the tongue (front). Try increasing the torque on the WDH, or move some of the weight back (maybe from bed of truck to camper.)
If the trailer seems squirrelly, not enough tongue weight, or too much weight behind the trailer axles.
I've found with my 30TH, if I don't put at least 25 gallons of water in the fresh water tank, mine gets squirrelly.

I agree that it's likely an issue with the distribution of trailer weight. But it's also possible that your setup is the exact right (wrong?) length to set up a harmonic resonance when going over regularly-occurring bumps like concrete pavement joints. This happens to me when I go over a certain bridge at a certain speed on the way to the beach. Go a bit faster or slower, and the bounce gets dampened by the shocks. But at one precise speed, each bump displacement adds to the previous bounce, and pretty soon the whole vehicle is bouncing pretty good at every joint.
You said that it doesn't happen when the road is smooth. Does that change with speed variations? Or does it happen at any speed on bumpy roads?

Seems to happen more at highway speed, 58-65. Cement roads make it worse.

You state that you have a new truck. Did you make changes to the set-up on the hitch for this truck? If you just moved the hitch over to the new truck the set-up may be wrong for this towing unit.

Did play with setup some. we'll see how it goes.
Trailer weighs 6500#, of that tongue is 540#

Yes, it appears that weight distribution within the trailer is your problem. Ford recommends that 10%-15% of the total trailer weight be carried by the hitch, but I've heard that 12%-13% is really what you should target. So, if the entire trailer weighs 6500 lb, you should move some stuff around the trailer such that the tongue weighs between 780 and 845 lbs.
