I'm just getting around to do some mods to the trailer. First up was replacing the hinges in the bedroom side closet to 170 degree european style hinges. The old hinges were only 105 degree hinges and would block the door from the bedroom to the bathroom with the doors opened. This was quite a PITA when trying to bring in linens or bathroom supplies to the closet. New hinge on top, old hinge on bottom. New hinges installed and doors now fully opened.

Next up is JT Strong Arm stabilizer and Maxxair vent covers for the roof. After that I'll be slowly changing out the lights inside and out with LED, starting with Rigid Industries lights for the ceiling fixtures. www.rigidindustries.com/category-s/144.htm

We have the screens too. They come with little spring things with hooks on each end to attach them. The refrigerator ones come with small zip ties. Both of these are a challenge to attach with, umm, fat fingers , A challenge not impossible. Just have patience.

So I used fine stainless steel TIG welding rod and wrapped it around through the screen and twissted the end. Not gonna come off by accident

I just finished replacing all of the clearance and running light with LED units. What a HUGE difference. The old lights weren't even visible in direct sunlight. The new lights shine brightly in sunlight. I should be getting my replacement LED tail lights by the end of the week. I'll post pics when it's completed.

Hi, Last week we got a 2011 Durango D295cs. We really like the space and it seems to be put together with care. Thanks for the tip on the hinges. My husband bought some yesterday. He also is putting in a Maxx air fan. We are thinking in the bathroom. Where did you put yours? I took out the 4 heavy chairs and replaced them with 2 lighter chairs and 2 folding chairs behind the sofa.

I had a Fantastic Fan installed by the factory in the bathroom. I thought about adding another fan in the living room, but with two AC units it's really not needed. So I'm just going to put a Maxxair II vent cover over the living room vent. I'm also going to add a Maxxair Fan Mate cover over the bathroom fan vent. I like the Maxxair vent covers since they have real screen inside to protect from bugs.
If I was going to install a new fan I'd probably go with the MaxxFan Deluxe since you won't have to install a cover and it's lower profile when closed.

We have a max air in the bath area and one in the living room. If you turn one on intake and the other on exhaust you have a nice wind tunnel in the 5er.

Is your original thermostat the same as this one, ours is different in our Durango 325RL? Either way, do you find it to be very accurate? Ours is off by at least 8 to 10 degrees and has about a 3 degree swing either way ... not the best of options.

Hopefully, I have this photo posting thing figured out. Here is what our thermostat looks like.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yep, that's our old thermostat.
It was way off between the on and off points (deadband). I haven't had a chance to try the new one yet. I was told by the dealer it's more accurate.

Thanks! I googled the model number and found them several places, one at $61 plus shipping. I also found one that had many reviews and apparently the digital one we're talking about is super accurate and only one degree of variance. Almost plug and play it seems for installation.
Thanks for this "heads up"!

My JT Strongarm set just showed up today. I didn't realize they made the cross bars so heavy. Should definitely help with movement while parked. Looks like I'll be busy this weekend installing them.
I should have my MaxxAir II for the living room vent and a MaxxAir Fan Mate for the bathroom Fan-Tastic vent next week, so next weekend is also planned out.

Just a note: I ordered and received the thermostat you ordered, and it works great. Only one degree either way and it shuts off whatever was on. And the temperature it displays appears to be right on. Been really hot here in Western Colorado, so had a good test for AC. Then I tested how it worked for heat. Boy, was that a bad idea! But, now I know how good that thermostat works.
Good luck on the JT Strongarms, my Durango came with them and they definitely slow down the "jiggle".
