Hello everyone! My wife and I will be finalizing the deal for a new (2016) KZ Spree Escape E250S this coming Friday. We are new to camping, and ANY information you provide will probably be useful to us.

First welcome. When you pick up your trailer be sure the dealer does a complete walk thru explaining how everything works and look it over as best you can...TAKE YOUR TIME. Don't be shy at asking questions. Another good website for rving is RV.net...lots of information. There is nothing complicated about an rv just common sense....just enjoy

First I want to thank all of you for the welcome. Spadoctor, I will take your advice and take my time with the dealer regarding the inspection, and thanks for the RV.net suggestion. Johnr, no, I have never towed a travel trailer before; hopefully, Friday will be my maiden voyage Vagov, thanks for the welcome.

Good luck with your maiden voyage! Take it slow and easy until you get used to it, don't make any sharp turns. Try to adjust your mirrors so that you can see the tires of the trailer as well as what's behind you.
For backing up, the best advice I was ever given in the beginning was to put my hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and turn the way you want the back of the trailer to go. Hopefully it will help you.

welcome and congratulations. this year will be our second year camping and we love it. like the others said, take your time and ask questions. if you can take a video of it. the link is for RV check list www.rvchecklist.info/ take your time and Happy Camping. Don't be afraid to ask even if you think that could be a stupid question(s). you will learn more and more when camping one after the other.

Johnr and Spreevilla, I thank you both for your response and for your advice. Actually, we have moved the camper pickup date to tomorrow. I certainly plan on using the information you both gave to me. Hopefully, one day I can return the favor. Thanks...Tom

Hi and Welcome. My suggestion for driving, backing up, and turns is to find a large unused parking lot and start practicing. If you have access to traffic cones use them to learn your clearances I realize getting to a parking lot means driving on the roads....hopefully you will have one close to home.
Also, the lists are great ideas. We have one to pack the camper and one for the checklist of vehicle/trailer prep. We have been at this for years and the list comes out for each trip....something gets left behind or left out if we don't take the time to check things off. We have created our own list on our computer and print it off before each trip. We did start with a online list and then tweaked it for our personal needs.
Happy Camping

Bluegrass2, thanks for the advice. The place where I will be storing it has a huge parking lot on the side. I plan to do some practicing there this weekend, (i.e., if it does not snow ) I have already downloaded the lists, and certainly plan to use them. Again, thanks.

We got the camper home, and it is parked. It only took two tries to back in under a fixed awning. Johnr I used your advice on the hand position when backing, and it certainly worked. Otherwise, it would have taken me probably 15 tries to back it in. Thanks.
