General question. Has anyone found steps to use for the kids to be able to climb into the top bunk on the bunkhouse models that can be put out of the way easily?

I bought a nice fold up step ladder at Walmart, works well. When not in use, it folds up flat and I have it strapped to the side wall by the back door.

You could make some stackable step boxes that latch for climbing/security when they are being used as steps....and then double as storage when traveling.

Hello fellow campers. We have a 2016 Show Stopper LE S242SBHSS. I solved the big problem of getting little grand kids into the top bunk. I made this ladder for under $50 using 2"x2"s, dowels and brackets. Then I affixed it to the top bunk. It looks like it belongs there and works great!

I purchased a Stromberg Carlson (LA-460-B) Black 60" Bunk Ladder from Amazon.com. Had to cut about 4 in. off of the bottom of each leg to get the correct angle for installation but that was easy to do. Ladder comes with two different types of mounting brackets that will allow installation depending on application. Tabs on top of the ladder slip into slots in the mounting bracket which allows easy install/removal. I leave the ladder in place if someone is going to use the upper bunk, otherwise I stow it on the upper bunk. I mounted it so one can use the lower bunk with no problem and the bathroom door will open without interference. Used it this past week and it worked great. <img style="max-width:100%;" alt="" src=" ">
