We purchased our 26ft Sportsmen Showstopper at the end of July. This was our first attempt at RV'ing.
We were able to take one short local trip before my wife had major back surgery.
Therefore we were not able to use the TT until she got a release from the Dr. which didn't happen until the end of October.
We are now in the 2nd week of a two week stay in Florida (Largo) and are thoroughly enjoying our new toy.
Took 2 1/2 days traveling from Central Arkansas, stopping for the 1st night in Alabama and the second in northern Florida arriving in Largo mid afternoon of the 3rd day (about 1000 miles total)
So far, no major problems other than the control crank and knob for the TV antenna falling off the 2nd day and discovering that we only get about 9 MPG on our GMC Yukon while towing the TT. Gas station stops are more frequent now.
We have learned a lot about the TT on this trip. Such as when to treat and drain holding tanks, how to take a shower without running out of hot water and how to get the refrigerator to cool down faster (it doesn't cool very well with nothing in it. A few bottles of water in it helps it cool faster)
We also know how to pack better next time. The lack of storage space has led us to use the bunk beds as catch-all storage while set up and for some items while traveling.
Weather has been beautiful so we are regretting to have to return home soon to colder, wetter weather.
Hope the trip home will be as trouble free as arriving here.
