It would be nice to have a top drawer in the 261 Spree in place of the flip out for scrubbers. Most times these flip-outs are under the sink where there is no space but there is plenty of space in this location.

A poster on another site said that the factory sold them a new drawer for around $50, so we requested one on our new camper now on order. The factory told our dealer that a full drawer wouldn't fit because of the sink being in the way. It appears from diagrams on the company website that this may have been true at one time. Photos of new 261 Sprees and our own inspections showed this not to be the case, since the sink has been moved closer to the pantry and now appears not to interfere with the drawer location. Is this just a case of "that's the way we've always done it" or is there still a valid reason not to use this valuable space? Would someone from the factory address the issue?

I would like to add a couple of drawers in to our 261. Do you know how I can get in touch with someone at the factory to order the draw fronts? Do you have a link to the other post you mention?

Believe it or not, we finally got our top drawer in place but not without a lot of persistence and resistance from the factory. When our dealer called a SECOND time to request this small change, the factory rep AGAIN told him there wasn't enough room. When the dealer asked him to go and actually look at an example, he initially refused, but eventually gave in to persistent insistence. Lo and behold, the drawer does fit! It works beautifully, is identical to the other drawers and gives us a great deal of much needed space. This would seem to be a natural for making standard on the 261, or at least an option. We gladly paid extra for it and I'm sure others would at least like to have the option.
I bought the KZ based on a lot of research indicating this was a good company to work with. We even selected a dealer five hours away in order to get a camper from KZ. I'm beginning to wonder if the reputation is accurate. I still believe it is a good camper, but there is at least one person there who needs a refresher on what customer service means. If they won't even go look at their own product to see what they're selling, what else are they overlooking?
Let's hope this is an anomaly and that KZ really is interested in providing customers with a good experience. I expect to purchase another camper at some point and would love to be able to go back to KZ with confidence.
Snayte, if you're still looking for the drawer front, I would suggest going through Customer Service and reference this exchange if needed. Our bad experience was with the new trailer ordering department. The other site you asked for is KZOwnersForum.com.

you should be going through your dealer for things from the factory NOT direct. If the dealer can't or won't help then that is a different story.

My 261 has a top drawer and no bottom drawer. I would build the drawer I just need a drawer front. Do one of you have the tip out left over? Is that the same size as the drawer front?

I have the same. Just the last year or two they had the four "drawer" fronts. If you put a drawer in the bottom there are some electrical and plumbing things to work around. I am planning to use this area to hold my electrical cord. Plans are not complete, but I think it will work. The electrical inlet would be removed and a locking access hatch would be installed. A plastic container installed in there would provide a snag-proof storage area. This will utilize the wasted space and keep the cord out of the front storage compartment. The twist lock connection can be another source of problems with the plastic lock ring and possible poor connection. A bad connection will cause heat and it is right at the wall. I like a hard wired cord for this reason.

Yeah I already looked into the space. I also knocked out the board below the pantry that is a nice bit of space too. For now it is just an open cubby but I would like to put a drawer there too. I keep bug spray, some tools and other outside items there where they can be easily reached from from the entrance door. Why don't they design these to take advantage of all the space? RVers are always looking for more storage.
