Our 315RKD is like Chucks, carpet in bedroom and under dinette and recliners. Light colored furniture helps, cozy for us. Happy Campin....

X2 on the pizza stone, that's what we did. Up until then every thing put in there would burn on the bottom and not look done on top. Happy Campin....

We store our 5TH wheel at home, limited clearance. It is about three feet from a wall, those flip up steps won't work for me either. Have never had a problem with the old factory flop out steps on any of our previous 5TH wheels. I would tend to agree with what lynnmor said. The gimmicks they come up with. Happy Campin....

Purchased a set of those back in 8-17, over 10,000 miles on them so far with no issues, still happy with them. I think Goodyear finally got it right. I had the old Trailer King II's as well. Lost two of them on a trip to Glacier National Park, thankfully they didn't blow just tread separation. Tread looked round like a bicycle tire instead of flat all the way around. Happy Campin....

Diablo,
Had one in our previous 5TH wheel, only issue was change in elevation you will need to adjust the pressure up or down. Ever notice your unopened snack bags at higher elevations? Kind of puffed up. Wasn't a problem, just adjusted accordingly. Happy Campin....

Had the slide toppers on our previous unit, got tired of the flapping when the wind would come up in the wee hours of the morning, wife is a lite sleeper. Then when it would rain, the one over the main slideout would puddle with water on top. Did not install them on this unit, don't miss them at all. But then, too each their own. I do carry a small battery powered blower and a ladder if needed, works for me. Happy Campin....

ronc,
Try turning it off with your remote if both the other switches are off. Happened to me once, hit the button on the remote without knowing it. Finally figured it out. That was my issue with it. Happy Campin....

laknox,
Yes it is pre-Thor. I do know Thor has made some changes by talking to the rep at last years RV show in southern Calif. From a personal standpoint I didn't understand why, other than to save on manufacturing costs. At the time it rang all our bells. Still happy with it. Heading out next week for a week. Hate to throw that out there knowing most through the mid west and eastern states are hunkered down still. Happy Campin....

If you read Dexter's care and maintenance procedures you will see they recommend disassembly once a year or twelve thousand miles (which ever comes first) to clean and hand pack the bearings. That way you can inspect every component of the braking system, it's very easy to push grease out through the rear seal and that is not good. Great sales gimmick as stated above. Also by filling that entire hub cavity full is way too much grease, excessive grease tends to retain heat. E-Z lube hubs are great on a boat trailer that is going to get dunked in the lake or river to keep water out but when was the last time you have seen a trailer or 5TH wheel axle submerged in water? I have been pulling the hubs once a year for over forty years and have yet to have a bearing issue to date. It's a bit more work but you know what is going on in there. Happy Campin....

Would I buy my RV again? Yes, purchased it (2016 Durango 315RKD 2500) in Nov. of 15. We have towed it over 28,000 miles so far, coast to coast twice northern and southern routes. It has had minor issues but nothing I couldn't take care of. We looked at numerous manufacturers and KZ came out on top for what we were looking for. We are very pleased with it. Is the fit & finish, quality still what it was at that time? Can't say, I would hope so. We like it so much we hate going home. But being retired makes it nice, go home for a couple weeks then hit the road again. Happy Campin....

Dragonflight,
In pictures I've seen regarding the 2014 Durango 336RE the access hole for the anti siphon device is located below the bathroom shower hot and cold valve, unscrew the 4" plastic cap and it should be right behind it. Easy to replace, you have evidence of a leak? That is where mine is located , 2016 Durango 2500 315RKD. Happy Campin....

What Edd said.
I take mine out once a year and clean it, then flush the tank while it's out. Simple to do. Gets all the sediment off the bottom of the tank. Have managed to get two years out of the anode but then again it depends on the water where you are located too. Pull it every year and if it is 50% or more eroded replace it. Happy Campin....

I stopped using the square bumper years ago, as it ages it starts to rust inside and as you pull the sewer hose in and out it will develop pin holes in it from rubbing against the inside of the square tube. I now and for years use a plastic chlorine tablet bucket, a bit larger/taller than a 5 gal. bucket. Coil the hose in it (20 fter). The 90* end sticks out above the rim but it stays put. Been working for years, I store it in the forward compartment under the overhang. Works for me, easy to carry around too. Happy Campin....

Living in the southwest we wanted a unit with more insulation and a bit more room, our unit at the time the insulation was like non existent. A/C ran constantly, never shut off and would never get below 90* if the ambient temp outside was over 100*. Plus we wanted just two slides more storage and a king size bed, larger bath/shower. Wife loves the rear kitchen. Very pleased with our choice. One thing I have noticed/found out now is the 1500 and 2500 5TH wheel line no longer have a six sided aluminum cage, only the Gold line is six sided now. While at the RV show this year in SoCal at Pomona I asked the KZ rep why, he said it was because of cost. Now its wooden trusses. Also, the Gold line is the only one with "full" gel coat now, the 1500 & 2500 are now Phylon. I was shocked to say the least. Sure glad we got ours before the Thor bean counters started their cuts. I just don't get it, if you have a good product leave it alone. Happy Campin....

In my paper work that came with our 5TH wheel, in the roof maintenance section it says to use Murphy's Oil Soap. Now with that being said I went and checked that stuff out next time at the store, on the bottle it only makes reference to cleaning wood products. No mention of TPO or any other rubber material. So, with that I have continued using the same car wash soap I've been using for years. Have used Meguires car wash in the purple bottle on three previous 5TH wheels and all my vehicles with no issues. It doesn't hurt the rubber on the vehicles and I've never had a roof issue related to its use on EPDM or TPO roofs. But any mild soap will do with a soft brush, I try not to use dish soap because it will remove any wax it comes in contact with on the sides of the unit, where the car wash liquid doesn't. I too have hired the job out the last two times, wife doesn't like me on the roof anymore. They do the entire unit plus detail my truck. I try to get it cleaned at least once every six months, lots of dust here in the southwest. Happy Campin....

Chuck, Congrats on your new hitch, B&W is good. I as well have the Curt but have the Q-16 head with locking jaws, now it is an A-16 head. Why they relabeled the head now, who knows. I like it because it has zerk fittings to grease the pivot points of the locking jaws. Before this one I had the slide bar type. Been working great for three years so far. Happy Campin....

We have that exact rig, 2016 315RKD love it by the way, have had it coast to coast twice, so far over 24,000 miles. But to tow it with a F-150, not enough truck as previously mentioned. That unit starts out with a hitch weight of 1,980 unloaded. You are only going to increase that number when you load it. What is the payload capacity of your F-150? I'm sure you will have a lighter capacity. The numbers you need to be concerned with are: GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of your truck, GCVWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating), maximum weight of both truck and trailer combined, payload capacity, curb weight of the truck (as it came from the factory). There are lots of numbers that come in to play here. I had a 2008 Ram 2500 w/Cummins prior to purchasing the 315RKD, its max payload capacity was 2,475 so with an initial hitch weight of 1,980 I only had about 500 pounds to play with and hadn't loaded the 5TH wheel yet. Too close for my liking after the wife and I and all our gear was loaded. So now I have a 1 ton SRW with a payload capacity of 4,400, you can never have too much truck. The object is to arrive at your destination relaxed and at ease. Check your numbers carefully, you want some cushion, don't max out your tow vehicle. You want to be able to stop it safely and control it in hilly areas and in the wind. Be careful. Happy Campin....

cpierce5319,
No matter what manufacturer you choose there will be issues. After all, you are towing this thing down the road at approx. 60MPH+ (a constant rolling earthquake). Have towed our 2016 Durango 315RKD over 27,000 miles so far and yes we've had minor issues but still happy with it. A manufacturer will never be able to please everyone. And besides, what is an issue for me may not be for someone else. Periodic maintenance is key, find problems when they are small. Good luck with your decision. Happy Campin....

laknox, I did that very modification on our 315RKD, no issues now. I posted on Sept. 28, 2016 with pictures, was an easy fix. I added the switch to the double fixture above the sink. Been working great ever since, minimal cost by the way. If you can't find the post let me know and I will send you the pictures. Happy Campin....
