I sure someone will respond to this question as my experience with the KZ factory customer service (original northeast rep and then new rep) and two separate KZ dealerships (Campers Inn- NH and MA) has not been too impressive since we bought our travel trailer last winter for a list of still pending warranty issues, many of which I just went ahead and fixed myself! Anyway, that's a frustrating topic for another time but no sense in trying this next question on them!
Here's my observation: Our TT is a a 2015 Spree 262, purchased new as I say this past year. The single slideout consists of the fridge, sofa, and wardrobe and all seems to work when I extend and retract the slide-out BUT I have noticed since the beginning that when the slide-out is in (travel position) and I look at the space between the slide-out molding and side of the trailer, it's not even a finger's width between at the rear of the slide-out, yet about 1/2 inch space with black molding or something between at the front end of the slide-out. It just seems odd to me that one end would 'protrude' more than the other end, but again there's nothing abnormal looking- it just seems that the front end doesn't retract essentially to the side of the trailer. When I looked at 2 other trailers in my neighborhood (other brands), their slide-outs have essentially no space at either end. So...is this a design of the trailer and if so, how could one end have a bigger space than the other and if not, I wonder what's wrong? Thanks, Ken

Seems to me that letting a unit out of the factory with the slide not being properly aligned doesn't speak very well for factory quality control methods. This flies in the face of K-Z's long time reputation for quality. Having just placed an order for a 2016 262RKS, I sincerely hope that this was just one that "fell through the cracks" and not indicative of a new paradigm now that Thor has purchased K-Z. Having a list of warranty issues still outstanding after a year of ownership frightens me a bit also.

I hate beating a dead horse but I have seen things steadily going downhill since Thor has purchased KZ. After reading recent comments from others about issues, not that some KZ's didn't have issues before, but there seems to be more complaints since the acquisition. My wife and I used to own a product that was under the Thor umbrella and we had all kinds of issues with it. That is why we bought a KZ! Before we did we visited the factory and were impressed. A friend of mine, who had purchased a different brand, had leak issues with it on the slide out. The dealer had sent someone out find fix it not once but multiple times. The dealer ended up telling them it was condensation and was nothing to worry about. It only happened when it rained! He also said they were building the units so fast to keep up with demand that quality control was almost non-existent. Is KZ going the same route with pressure from Thor?

The quality or lack of, isn't brand specific. It is industry wide. Read some of the issues on the Forest River Forum. Someone just had their rear slidout bed fall off in the middle of the night, due to bad welds.
Problem is lack of competition. Only a handful of manufacturers making all brands of RV's.

If you refer back to the link in my previous post. and go to page 11 there, you will see a stop can and a jam nut. On mine, those were completely loose with the nut away from the can. This is nothing new with KZ, they are thrown together just like any other brand. I look at travel trailers as a heap of raw materials that need final assembly by the purchaser.

Since we are on the subject of slide outs, I just noticed after our last trip that the wood framing support for the roller bar on the bottom of the slide is seperating. Easy enough to fix but I do not understand why there were no metal braces screwed on laterally to keep the nails from pulling out.
