Heading to Castaways for the first time in 3 weeks with some friends. Anybody been there before? Taking the Harleys for some riding during the day, relaxing at night. They have their own beach and tiki bar, sounds like a good time .

We had a great weekend at Castaways. Sites are spacious, bathhouses are extremely clean, store, coffee shop, two pools, Tiki Bar and a new Pool Bar and adult jacuzzi going in. Nicest camp ground around. Highly recommended. Going back in a June, and already booked the same weekend for next year.

Looks nice! They didn't have a problem with that 5'er pulling into the site?

Nope, told them we were going to share a central camp area. They were all very nice and accommodating.

We were never there but it would only be a couple of hours trip to get there so after your trip, any opinion you have about the campground would be greatly appreciated. Something I always do before I go to a new place is to put their address into google earth and get a good look at the campground layout for spacing between sites and large trees for shade. Using google earth -you can usually pick out the nicest sites that you can ask for when making reservations.

It is very difficult to get reservations, they book up very fast. Last week we had sites in their Club Castaways section, which requires a keycard to get into. This section has their own bathhouse and pool. Gotta love the private beach with a tiki bar. There is also a dog beach and run area. Very dog friendly, however, there are breed restriction due to insurance.

I checked them out on line and as far as reservations go----it looks like there is not much available for this season so I think we will book for next year so we can get what we want instead of what is still left.

Second outing to Castaways this coming weekend. Hope the weather forecast changes by then. BUT, rainy day camping at the beach is still better then a sunny day at work:)
