Hello all, My next job site in in Donaldsonville, LA.
Looking for a good place to stay. Need 50 amp with full hook up. I'll be there about two months.
I'd like to be close to my job. Maybe 25 miles or less. Doesn't seem to be many options online. Hoping some of you can give some ideas.
Thanks

I'll be in that area at the end of April and would like the same information. A member, brmike knows the area and I hope he chimes in.

in what part of the state will you be working? we have many nice campgrounds in the state including some exceptional ones. I need to know the area you want and are you very price sensitive?

Hey brmike, We were worried about you, hadn't seen many posts after our rally. Hope you are well. Louisiana is a little far for us this year but if we get down next year we will check in with you. We miss the "rally family"!!!!

We're still here. Had a few medical problems, but camping pretty often. Next month going to spend 8 days in pigeon forge, tenn for a quilt show. Then out to the texas hill country in April or early May. In between maybe a couple of trips around gulf coast area.

Just got back to Wisconsin. Not sure why anyone lives here. LOL. Was cold in Louisiana, but still in the 50s this week.
Anyway, I found a cg close to my job called B+B in Donaldsonville. Looked ok. Others I looked at were Poche which was nice and their sister park up 44 that is Sugar Hill. Pretty much a FEMA parking lot turned into a campground. But was plenty nice enough though.
Another was Cane Row. Which is a truck stop / Casino, with a pond that has plenty of sites. Pretty much a work type cg. Was ok.
The last one is St. James right below the Sunshine bridge. This is right past Sugar Hill Housing developing. Not to be confused with Sugar Hill RV park. St. James was pretty new. Basic work type campground but plenty nice. No one around but seems like it might be secure. Nicer homes right next door.
So of the five, based on my job location, I would say B+B because of location. Second, St. James. Probably Poche is the nicest and Sugar Hill is a good work site but both south of the bridge which is being painted right now. Can't do 44 south off of it. So, kinda pain in the butt to get to.
I don't have any more experience with these parks than just a drive through. Hope some of you may have some input???

Andy; the only one of those I'm familiar with is poche's, but I think you will find it more convenient to be on the d,vile side of the river. B&b may not be quite as nice but will be more convenient to get to and from work and shopping. Our winter should be over in a couple of weeks. We'll be in the 60's or 70's by then. Sorry about that Yankees!
