Hello. We are new Owners of our first RV, a Durango Half-Ton D299RLT and I have a question for someone out there may have some experience with.
On our unit we have a Furion tankless water heater and on the access panel outside there are 3 long, narrow slats at the bottom of the panel. There is also a round hole at the top of the panel that I did purchase a bug cover for. BUT...I cannot find any type of screen cover for the slats. They are approx. 10" - 11" long. My concern is that bugs and especially mud daubers will get into the heat system and cause issues. I have contacted Furion and they stated there is nothing out there to resolve this issue from them and they were pretty adamant that the vents are NOT to be covered due to heat exhaust issues. Does anyone have any experience or have any suggestions regarding this?
Thank you for any guidance!!

That will work. I found a single sheet (approx. 18 x 24) on Amazon and will try this on the inside of the vents using the same type of springs the other vent covers use, only going from inside to out. If that doesn't work will use wire. Thanks so much for your comment!! I appreciate your help!!

You are not 'covering' the vent. The airflow may be reduced by less than 5%.
