When I winterized my 5th wheel, I only turn off the water heater on the inside I did not flip the switch out on the water heater itself. I keep my 5th wheel plugged in and under a RV carport cover. I "assumed which is a bad thing to do" that with the inside shut off and propane turned off that would be good. I'm frequently out there working on odd jobs. Just a while ago while working on some other items I heard the fan kick on. It ran for maybe 15 seconds before shutting off. I have no idea how long this has been going on. Like I say I'm frequently out in that area and never heard it before. But the lesson is if you have an on-demand water heater be sure and turn it off on the inside panel and also out on the heater itself.
