So my Grandpa has this travel trailer on his ranch and recently, when we turn off all the lights, the whole DC side of the electrical system shuts down. The only way to restart it, is to leave ANY light in the ON position and flip the main breaker until the light comes back on and that will keep the DC side of things alive. I checked the voltage coming from the converter while a light is on and it reads 13.7 volts which seemed fine to me. If I turn off the lights, it goes to reading around 5 volts. All the fuses were fine when I checked them too. Any help would be great!

5W or tow behind? Tow behind check the circuit beaker on the tongue some where near the battery, they corrode from being exposed to the weather.

Check your grounds. A bad ground can cause some strange things. That is so true. If its not a bad ground, it sounds like a flaky converter.
