Hello everyone, I am here in Virginia. This is my first fifth wheel trailer. Went from motorhome to fifth wheel for the extra space. Looked for several months before deciding on KZ brand. Ended up with a 2024 Durango D301RLT. Did not really know about KZ until we went to the Hersey Pennsylvania show this year and talked to factory rep. Did my research called and talked to the factory rep several times and went to the only dealership in VA. (Very Disappointing) Ended driving to Indiana and buying it from Dave at Ski's Truck & RV Sales in Rockville IN. I was totally impressed with this Ski's facility. Best price I could find, top notch service establishment. Very impressed with how I was treated. No extra surprise fees (No DOC) at all. Their service Teck was very thorough on going over everything and answered all my questions. Only problem was getting into my storage building with a 12' door for the winter. Can't wait to get it out this Spring and putting some miles on it. Bill imgur.com/CS9qML6imgur.com/HbS2Pgmimgur.com/EbXCM3eimgur.com/W3wIkSe

Nice ride!! And for the storage, perhaps some 'grade work' leading into the nice building would be a benefit!! It sure is nice to have a roof overhead!!! Welcome to KZ!!

Hi welcome to the forum. Even if it is tricky to get under, covered storage is great (I wish I had some).

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Very nice looking setup you have there. Before we upgraded to a fifth wheel this summer, I had never heard of KZ as well. So far I have been completely satisfied with this brand.

There are so many different manufactures and all have their different good and bad things about each other. If you only went by reviews you would probably never buy any.
All will break down sooner or latter. T try to keep this in my perceptive.
All I can say do your research, find the floor plan that fits you best and take the dive to look at it. How much are you willing to spend to get what you want. Don't always listen to others sometimes their option is based on their bad luck.
Why KZ Durango ,for me 2 year warranty, The way its built, floor plan, Storage space, Home appliances, solar package,2 awnings, extra wide slide outs ect.
But it has some this that could be better like the sink in the bathroom is as large as my dogs food bowel. Had to add propane tank gauges, Behind the behind tv is only 1 120 volt recital and both have something plugged in already. I could keep adding other this buts its always a trade off.
I found a lot of good reviews also a lot of bad reviews on KZ but out of it all it comes down to If the wife likes it.

Wow, your story sounds a lot like mine. I’m in SE Tennessee and also went to the same dealer in Indiana to get my first 5th wheel. I went with the D326RLT. I’ve had it since the end of September. So far, so good.

I hope your experience their was as good as mine. You probably had a 500 mile ride jest to get there. The only real issue was how bad the interstate roads were in in Indiana. I would watch the tractor trailers move over to the passing lane ahead of me and do the same thing because they knew what was ahead to miss the huge pot holes in the road. They need to give a Billon Dollar's less to Ukraine and give it to Indiana to fix the roads. I was imagining everything in the fifth wheel was coming apart but everything was still in place when I got home only had a half a dozen stink bugs had hitched a ride inside.

You said the only KZ dealer in VA. I'm assuming it was Scenic RV in West Point VA.
Just wondering what was so disappointing about it. I've bought two TT from Nick, the latest was our KC Connect, and have been very satisfied.
He's a few hour away so haven't been back since the warranty ran out, but before that, he really took care of us.

I was imagining everything in the fifth wheel was coming apart but everything was still in place when I got home only had a half a dozen stink bugs had hitched a ride inside. We travel to Indy quite often since our daughter lives there. I find the interstates in Indiana so much better than what I have to deal with in VA. At least in IN and around Indy, there isn't a "rush" hour. In NoVa, I-95 is at 15 mph or less for 10 - 20 miles or more every day, and worse on weekends. VA then went to a private company to build "express" lanes that use EasyPass and charge you $$$ per mile to get past the backups. Except RVs and towed trailer aren't allowed so it can take +2 hour to get 30 miles if you hit it at the wrong time of day. Of course it saves you $40 - $60 because you can't take the "express lanes" to save 30 minutes. If you want a quick trip around DC, make sure you come through 1 - 4 AM in the morning. They need to give the east coast, I-95 corridor, those Billions so they can get caught up from being 20 years behind on transportation. I would gladly trade some rough roads for the extensive traffic delays where you average 15 mph for 60 miles or more. The problem in NoVa is the roads are clogged up and rough. At least you are going really slow when you hit the rough spots.
