I have a Durango Gold 382MBQ.
Every few days we smell gas in the RV. After a quick vent of the air in goes away. Then stays away for a day or two then comes back. I have checked the furnace, propane tanks, and anything else I can check I see no leaks.
Then again yesterday after leaving the trailer for a few hrs we came back to a heavy gas smell. The furnace was not running at all and yet tue smell. Vented the smell and after about 30 min it was gone.
I am just so confused as to what is making that smell. Any ideas on what it could be or what I could check would be much appreciated!! Thanks for the help in advance!!

Check the pig tails between the tank & register fr cracks. Not only cracks in the hoses, but the brass fittings / o-rings may fail at the tank. That's what happened to me after taking my tanks to be refilled. BOTH pig tails failed at the brass fittings. Lyle

You can pick up a leak detector on amazon. They're not that expensive. It might help in tracking done where the leak is. I used one to track down a leak that I had outside, that would come and go' it didn't actually go away but just hard to smell the odor.

Look at the stove, make sure all the burners are in the off position, also that the oven pilot isn't on.

Turn off the propane tanks. If a smell returns it may be the vent on the bathroom or kitchen sink. Gray water may produce a smell like gas. Look under the sinks for a vent on the drain pipe.
