Picking a new to us 2014 E17fkth
Just wondering anything should look for before purchasing
Or any mods that should look into doing
Mainly going to be either weekend trips or using when taken part at a BBQ Comps

Normally a 2014 will have most of it's original factory defaults corrected, but like anything used I'd check for any signs of water damage such as stains, soft spots around windows/doors/flooring, check roof and caulking in general, appliances-like is the refrigerator and A/C cold (bring a thermometer to test fridge for 35 deg), awning, tires born date (should be replaced if greater than 6 years old and ask when the bearings were last packed), open all windows, look in all cabinets, put water in fresh water tank and check out the water pump at the faucets and toilet, and excessive rust or cracking on the undercarriage/framing. Also you'll need a brake controller installed in your vehicle and a weight distribution hitch to tow with. And make sure you get the trailer title. I'm sure there's more that I missed but just take your time and be curious about everything. Congrats on your trailer and welcome to the forum!

I'm a big fan of smoking meats and dabble in it a little myself. Not knowing if you'll always have access to electricity at your competitions keep in mind that the refrigerators in campers can be an expensive replacement if you're wanting one that can run on both propane and electricity. Mine wouldn't keep food cold when it was brand new so I needed to make a few modifications in order for it to cool properly no mater what energy source it was using. Click here to take you to a previous thread and you'll see the details of what it took to add fans to get my fridge to function properly and the fans are all powered via the batteries dc power. I don't know what type of fridge you'll have but something to keep in mind. I always get my fridge going a day in advance so it'll be up to temp and good to go so when you check out this new unit it may not reach full cooling in just a few hours time but you should see a temp difference to know it's at least working.
