Last August we bought a 2020 KZ sportsmen 291rkle. Just love it. Now that we are both retired we can go anytime with our dog Rosie. Looking into getting a King omnidirectional hdtv antenna. Thought about mounting where the one we have is. Or is it better to get a portable one. Current one not good at all. Thanks for the add and any suggestions you have!

Any TV antenna is HDTV, that is just sales BS. Omnidirectional means that it will receive from all directions which benefits the RV manufacturer by eliminating the need to install the turning mechanism, it is not for your benefit since that type of antenna can't be pointed at the tower for maximum gain. A portable antenna would allow you to carry it to a better position if there is something blocking the signal. The best reception would be with the Winegard RVW-395 Sensar IV, all the rest are pretty much toys.

So that looks just like a regular antenna you mount?

Poor reception, did you turn on the antenna booster? If your going to spend any time in the new RV you may want to look into Dish Out Doors, turn on and off with a phone app. I have was mine for years from the left coast to Indiana, south to the gulf coast and can get channels I know and not have to surf a new area to see something that might interest me.

Another thought, if the booster is on you also need to do a channel scan in the TV menu.

Maybe I need to add that to the PDI !!!
"Ask salesman or RV Tec to show you how to operate TV doing a Channel scan" "Ask salesman or RV Tec to show you how to operate TV Booster an it's location"
Safe Travels my friend !!!!
