Hey all! Being relatively new yet to RVing I have a question .
In 2020 we purchased a new 2019 Escape E181RB.
This past summer after driving thru several heavy rains we found that the front window has a minor leak. After looking closer, there does not appear to be any type of sealant. I am wondering if this is is correct or if there should be sealant there?

My 2019 E161RB is pretty much the same body but my trailer is currently in winter storage otherwise I would look at it. Does this window open and do you have the rock guard installed. As a guess if you don't see a sealant such as caulking then the sealant between the glass and the frame may of failed on your window. If you've isolated where the leak is with a water test then from the inside press on the glass to see if it moves. If so then an automotive window repair place could re-seal it or you could attempt a reseal yourself from the outside. Just don't use a silcone caulk, proflex is a decent brand.

Thanks for the reply! The window does not open nor does it have the rock guard. It appears the window is set in as one piece with a hard rubber type gasket around the edge. When the trailer is sitting the wall panel fits fairly tight against the gasket but when traveling the wall panel flexes slightly to create a gap. This where I believe the water is coming in. I can’t see any type of sealant around this edge.

Well, if that's the case then the easy fix would be to seal around the gapped area using the Proflex and see if that stops the leak. Otherwise I think pulling the window and installing butyl tape would be required. I have never had to do something like that but it would be a way bigger job than trying the caulk first. You could also contact your dealer to see how they would repair it or what problems they have seen pertaining to this. I have the rock guard on my front window which I think protects the front window from wind driven rain.

A front window needs all the help it can get, I would pull the window and seal it right, putting band-aids on cancer is not a good plan.
