We primarily use our camper at some land we own and the 2020 Connect antenna just does not perform as well as the old crank model in our former Coyote Lite. We could get eight to twelve channels and sub channels (6-1, 6-2 ...) with the old crank style but only get only 4: 6-1 through 6-4 with the new omni model. I purchased a $49 portable antenna from Amazon and get an amazing 23 channels including the sub channels. Wondering if the omni antenna is defective or if it really is that useless. We do not have cable at this property as it is very rural. When I use the antenna on the big TV in the living area I lose reception at the small TV in the bedroom, so it is looking like I need to invest another $49. I wonder if there is an upgrade central antenna available that would work without all the extra wires involved with the little add on Amazon unit.

Even though you are an experienced RV owner, I have to ask the obvious- Are you turning the amplifier one and do you see a green light on it?. Probably so since you get some channels. Unfortunately one of KZ's biggest faults is the ability to properly install ends on coax cables, second is their ability to properly connect said cable to the proper places. End result is you need to make sure everything is connected properly, specifically the amplifier plate. Rather than repeat good info, do a quick search on this site, there are several that go into detail on how to check the ends & what end goes where on the amplifier plate.

Some joke that omni-directional means equally poor reception in all directions. The Winegard "batwing" directional antenna has been tested and proves to be the best RV antenna available. If you are parking in the same spot each time, consider using a permanent installation of a home style antenna.

I'm in SW Florida, a good ways from anything. My King Jack was hardly doing the job. I got this from Walmart - onn. 4K HD Motorized Outdoor TV Antenna with 150-Mile Range and Pole Mounting Kit. ONN is a Walmart brand, but this has done the job. Before when receiving a 1/2 dozen usable channels, I'm getting three times that. I wouldn't get the motorized one again. I have mind mounted on a pole, about 15' high. I've also used the ClearStream 2MAX UHF/VHF Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna at Walmart. I used it indoor and, indoor, was quite as good at the previous, but did the job well.
At least at Wally's you can take them back if you don't like it. I would try the Clearstream first since you really don't have to mount it.

Unfortunately one of KZ's biggest faults is the ability to properly install ends on coax cables, second is their ability to properly connect said cable to the proper places. I certainly believe that... I just had my C261RB in for some warranty work and the TV reception was one of them. The tech said the coax was factory connected to the wrong port on a splitter. It was corrected and works now.

Look into Dish portable satellite with ability to on off monthly as needed, IF you have Dish at home it's a $7 a month charge to your normal bill. I got tired of surfing to find what I wanted to watch so I can now get a guild where ever and I have the channels I watch.
