Our KZ Sportsman Classic BH uses the same faux wood paneling throughout the bathroom including the shower surround. All our previous trailers had plastic or fiberglass shower enclosures so we're assuming the wood paneling is waterproof. Any tips on cleaning so as not to damage the paneling or waterproofing?

Melaleuca makes a really good Tub & Tile Cleaner that's not harsh or corrosive. That's what we use on ours. Ours is more of a laminated particleboard as well rather than actual fiberglass. We used it when we brought it home and it did a nice job. But then again, most of their cleaning stuff usually does.

I would add a true shower surround if you intend to use the trailer more than a few times a year. I know you asked about cleaning products, but that is just additional wetting of a very marginal surface.

Thanks for your ideas. We will try the Melaleuca this first year and see how it goes. If we find we are using the shower often (in lieu of campground provided showers) will probably resort to adding a surround to insure against rot.

Lynnmor is right, these showers aren't really made for a ton of use. If you plan onusing yours quite a bit, then I suggest going with a surround as he suggests, like a bathfitter or something. You can buy most of the DIY materials at Home Depot.
I only mention the Melaleuca stuff because that's what we use and it works great. We got hooked on that with our dogs. Their stuff isn't toxic like most cleaners, so I don't have to worry about cleaning the floor or something like that and the dogs licking the floor afterwards.

Yes, I've explored Camping World and Adventure RV websites and they have 24 X 36 shower enclosures for around $130 but not sure I want to pay the shipping costs $80 so may use my DIY skills? and get some plastic panels from HD to trim it out. Thanks again to you both for the advice

Thanks again to you both for the advice That's what I am going to do when the time comes for my replacement. I did just have a thought as I was typing, but I wonder if putting something like Thompson's water seal on it might help protect the walls so you can get more use out of them? I would also suggest getting a shm-wow or 2 and wiping down the walls after you shower. That will help extend their life as well.

Just about everything you can find on Camping World you can find on Amazon or someplace else for cheaper. Besides, given how their service dept. acts, why would you want to put more money in their pockets than you have to?
