Hi All, looking at getting a new Durango Gold 5er and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are on theirs. My last KZ was a 30 foot TT and has lasted us 12+ years so happy with their product. And I used it A LOT. So they hold up well. Time for an upgrade Thanks for the input

I have a 2017 and love it. Being retired I think it gets more use than most that are not full timers. I have had a number of issues with appliances but that has nothing to do with KZ the just install them. I have found it easier & faster to go to the appliance manufacturer for warranty repairs. Search warranties and you see several discussions on the topic.

We have a '18 380FLF. We love it. A problem with a slide wire that KZ took care of. Other than that, not a problem. We're heading to Quartzsite in about 3 weeks. Been to Okalhoma, TN, MI, OH, PA, MD, VA. Very happy. Best mfg I've used in 20years.

The DW and I have a G384RLT, we live in it 5-6 months of the year, we love it and no major problems to date and only 1 minor problem a loose trim panel. that being said there are several thing I don't like but they would be problems with any brand you would buy.

We have a 2017 381REF and full time in it and like it. We have had a few hiccups (clothes closet rod fell down due to weak attachment hardware, one shelf in our kitchen island fell down due to being very flimsy and attached with staples). These are built to a price point so these things are to be expected. The "bones" of a Durango are pretty good (well ... no worse than others) and that's the part that matters. Traveling down our great roads really shakes everything and will cause stuff to break or come loose ... but that is true of all manufacturers. IMO, KZ offers the most bang for the buck and is a good value. You can spend more, but you're not likely to get a lot more unless you spend A LOT more. I think KZ is the best product in the general range of $100K and less. All of this is just MO, and we're pretty happy with ours.

Like jetzen we have a G384RLT 5th wheel, you can read my post in the Want to buy a Kz Trailer folder kzfamilyforum.com/thread/1681/buy-kz-trailerWe have now well over 9000 miles on our 5th wheel an had a few minor problems which i fixed myself. As I have said before your trailer going down the road is like an earthquake on wheels at 60 or 65 miles an hour so things will come loose an things will some times brake from ware .... Like other I believe that Kz is the best bag for the buck in the trailer industry ...

I as well think you get your moneys worth. We have a 2016 Durango 2500 315RKD and have towed it over 15,000 miles with minor issues. As Chuck stated, I took care of those myself as our purchasing dealer is over three hours away. Not worth the hassle plus they keep it forever. Being retired we tend to spend long periods out and about. Last week I was on the roof checking the caulking (it's two years old this month). DW doesn't like me up there, not as spry and agile as I used to be. Will be out ten days over Christmas and will do the bearings upon return. Living in the Southwest, not much cold to worry about. Happy Campin....

Thanks for Yall’s input and understanding that things come loose bouncing down the road. Like y’all I fix most things on my own being an engineer by trade. The big stuff I do rely on warrant work. Usually I pull and park for long periods to use as a weekend get away so hopefully not much bounces loose. Will let everyone know what I decide on bat have been looking hard at a G382mbq. The idea of my own patio overlooking the view is almost too hard to walk from.

Bobcat I can't say it enough, Kz product's are pretty well built otherwise we would not have bought such, but like any other MFG they do make mistakes an things happen But saying the above the dealer you buy from is the most important part of the deal, good dealer good product, bad dealer even if it's a very good product you will think bad product .... Look for reviews on the internet about a dealer, ask here about a dealer, the sale's staff my be the greatest people you ever will meet but the service department may be the worst you have ever come across. As many of us have experienced here Kz will stand behind their product an help you when needed, but some dealers will tell you it's Kz's fault when it's them, themselves that had dropped the ball ... Good Luck an safe travels Chuck

Thanks Chuck, the dealer is the one I bought my last TT from and their entire staff has been class act. Even the day I was looking for parts and their service manager walked me out to a unit they had and talked me through the trouble shooting to make sure I got the right part. And based on your recommendation I did look at the online reviews of the dealer just in case and only found a few negative things....but that being said there will always be someone who is negative as we can not please everyone all the time. Given that basis, I am comfortable with the dealership and their staff...I was just looking to see if the quality of the KZ products has changed over the years. Looks like they have not changed and will soon be the proud owner of a new rig. Bobcat

bobcat Like a few other's here on the form last year at the Kz rally in Indiana the Kz Factory people bent over backwards to do any warranty work an even helped Kz owners out of warranty . I was a believer in the solid way our 5th wheel was built, but after I visited the factory an talked with the people at Kz they are committed to making a great product As you know in any travel trailer there will be problems, some worse than others but it looks like your dealers service department per your statement is on top of things an that's great ... As I said before we have well over 9000 miles now this year in 11 states in the mid west an western states an our G384RLT has pulled better than are old 33ft Coachmen which was far lighter Safe travel we hope you become part of the kz family in the future, if so don't forget about the Kz Rally in August near the Kz factory, you get to meet a great bunch of Kz owners as well as the staff at Kz which are awesome Chuck & Hildi

Chuck-
Lucky I am pretty much a pull and park person, I found an awesome off the beaten path park near Austin, TX and that is my weekend get away. But its always nice to have the option of taking your own when you go on vacation. I've pulled many farm trailers so I bet this will be a breeze compared to!
My corporate office is in southern IN so if I can correspond a trip up during the rally I will try and make it there!
If y'all are ever in the Austin/Bastop TX area let me know I can give you a list of good stuff to see and do!

Hey Bobcat, I live in Dripping Springs, so same parts of the woods. Lots of great places in the hill country with-in 1-2 hours drive. Headed to big bend next week. I have had my 384RLT a year now. We had some issues at first but the factory authorized all repairs and updates where necessary. They either fixed it or fixed it and made it better. After a year it is now solid with no issues. In the shop for annual PM and inspection. I have no regrets! Great Trailer. Good luck. Larkin

Bobcat I really like the East Austin area, being from North San Antone I know the hill country pretty well, I say that now but have not been back there for some time .... I would love to get the DW down there but she loves the NW an hates hot weather Ugh !! Safe Travels Chuck
