Just daydreaming and got to thinking the new Durago has a inverter. I had a small one in a class 8 truck for recharging battery's and a small TV. What does this thing power in a Durango? outlets? It's factory wired, does it need turned on from inside like the one I had prior? I spaced this on the PDI, never thought about it.

Hummmmmmmmm Per my Kz brochure there is a 1000W inverter with the 18CU FT 120V residential refrigerator, an since I do not have such only the 18CU FT RV refrigerator not sure if I have a 1000W or less ... But thinking about it, I know I have a number of USB charging stations an of course the trailer runs on 12volt as well 120AC and two battery's, so I would think the converter is used to charge batteries for one on my unit Another question to ask when attending the the Rally Safe Travels Chuck

Edd505,
you only have an inverter if you have a residential refrigerator it is located in the battery box and it is 1200 watts. An inverter changes DC voltage to AC voltage. Are you thinking of a converter? All should have a converter I do believe they are 65amp, it changes AC voltage into DC voltage and is also used to charge the batteries.

Edd505,
Looked at all the photos and enlarged so I could read them.
If you read the label on that silver box that is mounted on the steps it says WFCO 65amp power converter.
If you had an inverter it would be mounted in the same compartment that houses the battery.
An inverter needs to be accessible so that you can turn it on and off. It is only there so you can power the refrigerator when you do not have shore power.

OK thanks, what I took to be the inverter is the back side of the converter then. This is the first one I have seen from the back the other RV's had enclosed units I only check front side connections. The one in my class 8 had on off under the front seat.

Edd505,
No problem buddy. You know there is so much "stuff" on these new trailers and then there are so many ways to configure them either by floorplan or optional equipment or both that sometimes it's hard to tell who the players are.

Our Fridge is AC I don't see a Inverter in the Battery box. If I found the right picture, the converter looks to be in the bottom step.
