Hi,
I've started pulling apart the rear area of my Frontier in front of the rear bed slide out. The rear corner rim joist and the most of the floor joists were rotted out including the subfloor. I'm suspecting the slide out as the source of the problem and hope that I can get some pointers as to how I can remedy this issue....
Thanks!

I have a lot of trouble with this issue and could not find much on it. There is a post from me dated sept 2012. I found that the water can follow along the rubber seal and work it's way back into the camper from below. You can use a bead of lap sealant to guide the water away from the seal.
But the best thing I have found is to camp with the back of the camper slightly lower that the front. This way the water simply flows to the back of the camper and not into the interior.
Good luck!

Thanks for the point! I looked at your pictures which looks much the same as what I did...since you did the repairs has there been any further issues? And did you take any pics of of the caulking bead you did?
Thanks!

Sorry it took so long to reply, this forum does a really poor job of notifying you when you get a response. I have had no further issues since my repairs and (of course) leaving the back of the camper slightly lower than front. I can try in the spring to get some pictures of the caulking bead, but I did a really sloppy job.
The only other issue was the 2 back corners were very soft from an old leak. one corner was so bad, the awning caused the side for the Frontier to flex in the wind. This summer, I pealed back the TPO and cut the rotten wood out, reframed that section of roof and replaced the TPO. I did not touch the other corner yet, it is still soft, but not currently leaking. (maybe a 2015 project).
You should check out RVcircus on RV.net He has had all of these issues and wound up basically doing a rebuild.
Good luck!
Joe
