Camping a few days ago the outside temp was 25º low and 35º high. At night the furnace would run almost continuosly, meaning in 8 hours it stopped once for maybe 30 minutes with the thermostat set to 66º. The air temperature from the vents was 140º closest to the furnace to 125º at the furthest. However, the air pressure is quite minimal. Not even in the ballpark compared to my previous trailers. It actually appears that the temperature is good but the low flow can't keep up with the outside cold which penetrates the walls with ease. Any ideas? (2022 model)

You might want to check the furnace plenum, it is possible that one of the furnace plenum to heat duct tubes fell off. Also it is possible as was the case on my Durango, that the tubes to duct need to be reconfigured. I had 2 tubes to the upstairs ducts and 2 tubes to the downstairs ducts. I reconfigured it to be 1 tube upstairs and 3 tubes downstairs to get more flow into the main living area. We were getting blasted/overheated upstairs. As all the heat will eventually find it's way upstairs anyway I directed the majority of the airflow to the main living area.
I also swapped out the floor registers with residential ones with a damper/shut off so I can even further direct air flow, and when running the A/C the floor registers are closed off to help minimize the loss of cold air from the Air conditioner. These can be found at Home Depot or Lowes.

Thanks jetzen. I checked the plenum and the ducting. Found some trash from the build but nothing to decrease flow. The one side cover was slightly bent so I straightened it and sealed the various leak areas. The temperature is great and the airflow has slightly improved. I will be installing at least one "residential" vent because I don't need the airflow I'm getting in the bathroom.

The bathroom is actually the one I leave open for the upstairs heat, plus we also cut the furnace air flow in half by deleting one of the plenum tubes. |
