We just returned from the Texas Hill Country west of Austin/San Antonio. We stayed for several days north of Medina, just south of Kerrville, at the Hill Country RV Resort and Event Center. The facilities have recently been redone. The management team is excellent and very friendly. They offer RV sites, tent sites, and cabins. They are located close to Lost Maples State Park, Bandera, Kerrville, and other scenic areas. On our way home we stopped in Fredericksburg and stayed at the Oakwood RV Park, also nice with good facilities. Fredericksburg (German influence) is a very popular weekend stop with shopping and wineries. It is worth a visit any time. The Texas Hill County has many other great destinations. They are often near one another and the area is very scenic.

Hi rgnmgr, they are great places! And another to add in a similar area, but south east of Austin is Lake Falling Star link I have been staying there for years and its off the beaten path in the county and very quiet. Spacious sites, great amenities, and the staff are great! For those who like to be "Winter Texans" its a good spot. Maybe not as warm at times as south Texas but like the other parks you mentioned it is near lots of things, including San Antonio and Corpus is not too far. Especially those history buffs its a great location!
