I am looking at these stairs as a replacement for the flip down solid stairs, which most manufacturers are now installing. I would like to hear from anybody within a 100 miles of Topeka, KS who has these stairs. It would be great to actually see them on an RV.

I have them and love them. I ever buy another RV they will get the glow, solid to step on and the dirt does not go inside when I fold them.

That was my trouble too, actually seeing them in person. I drove to a torklift dealer that also sells RVs in the hopes that I could see one. Aside from the display inside the store, they couldn't show me one either. They had plenty of the solid steps for me to check out.

Have them on cirrus truck camper work great but not as sturdy. The torklift still requires preventive cleaning or you track in dirt. Prefer the fold in stairs for the sturdiness.

Mine are as sturdy as a rock with an added handrail. I've have solid step owners looks at/use mine and say they wish they had them. The cleaning is true of any camper steps, there's no way around that. What did you end up doing len?

I have had the Glowsteps I installed earlier this year, love them stable and the trash doesn't go inside when I close up. I just added the hand rail as the wife just had knee surgery, it seems very steady next week will be the test. The hand rail instructions are not well written, I used the pictures to figure it out.

Do they install the box area under the door that the steps fold into as part of the step installation? Guess there is no going back to the folding type after that.

johnr Sorry about not getting back to you sooner, in regards to 'what did I end up doing about the TorkLift stairs'. At this time, I haven't done anything. I've been sidetracked doing other things. Every time I bring down the solid steps, I think about the TorkLift as an alternative. Still haven't seen a set of these stairs. With colder weather I guess I will have all winter to think about this. Thanks for asking.

There is no place/box to fold steps under. That's why I'm wondering how you could replace the solid steps with these. You would have to build the box area under the doorway also. I don't know if that is a big job or just a matter of cutting the skirt and putting a little bracing in place. How would the steps mount? Just screw to the plywood floor from underneath?

I wouldn't just screw them into plywood. Mine bolted into the same box structure that the original steps came out of. If you don't have the box, I'd suggest calling Torklift and see what options they have.

Some news on the Glowstep, they now make then to replace the solid steps now being put on RV's.I have had mine a year now in many different sites and still love them. The handrail took getting use to setting up but it's a breeze now, three poles that attach to the step, door and slide.
( No I am not an employee, salesman, and get nothing if you switch.)
