Looking thru the pass thru forward to the battery a compartment (256RKT 2022): Is your frame the same? I see no reason for this part of the frame to be missing.

That does not look right to me, send a picture to KZ and see what they say.

I did and they said it was nothing to be concerned about. I would like to know if others are the same or is it just mine.

Hmmm, that doesn't look right. We also have a 2022 D256RKT. I'll check it out on Monday and let you know what ours looks like.

Yep, that's exactly what I thought mine should be like. Nice to see what JimS looks like.

Ok, I went out and took pics of this area on my 2022 D256RKT and I'm sorry to say, but this is NOT normal. You'll need to contact your dealer/KZ for sure! I also shined a flashlight up over the propane box on the street side and the aluminum floor framing goes all the way across on that side too. View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentI have sent the picture of my missing section again to KZ. Thank you. Excellent response.

Well, KZ says there is no issue with this and it will have no impact on frame integrity.

WOW, Ok, so there is no issue with frame integrity, but there is still obviously a piece missing and it may not affect the frame, but what about the flooring that it is suppose to be supporting (right in the main entrance to the bedroom)? Tell them you want to remove the windshield in their personal car, because that won't have any impact on their cars frame integrity either and see if that's ok with them. It is obvious that box tubing was cut out on your unit, and if it wasn't necessary they wouldn't put them in every other trailer (mine). And when you purchased your trailer you were expecting to get a complete trailer so they should replace/repair this section. Frustrating for sure...Sorry to hear.

Jim, I understand completely. I'm not sure if arguing with them will do a damn thing but, I have kept the correspondence in the event something later happens. It certainly has me questioning KZ quality. I'ld like to install a brace but I don't want to disturb anything for possible future issues.

Did you also send them our pictures showing a complete aluminum frame? If so it might be like arguing with a wall to get them to do anything with this. They should at the very least add a reinforcement to it. If not, I would.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying. Not a bad idea to maybe see if you can find a piece of aluminum tubing and have it welded in. Good luck!

If anything, get 2 1/2” aluminum flat bar and use two self tapping stainless steel lag screws to screw it on each of the two cut ends. That will be better than nothing.

Yes, I did take the liberty of sending a pic from Jim and also mentioned that other owners reported not having it like mine. I think adding some support will be my final plan but first, I want to come up with a way to actually measure if any movement happens between the 2 pieces. Unfortunately, I don't have strain gauges.

Yep. More "quality Amish craftsmanship". I =seriously= doubt you would have seen this pre-Thor.
My best is that some bean counter figured out that they could save $0.05 by not putting it in. Would love to know the build dates on all these.

You could add a support using self-tapping screws without too much trouble. I'm wondering with the parts shortage if they had to make do with the parts available. Maybe that was originally for a different floor plan.
