Need recommendations for how many 100 Watt panels I should use to go off grid in 2022 connect 261 RB. Need to just recharge factory batteries and run furnace at night, propane frig, water heater, lights ect. Thanks for all opinions.

I camped beside a guy last year and he had a Renogy 200 watt. They need to be in full sun to max out on output. In the shade or under tree cover didn’t cut it. He still used his Honda generator. He had a Connect but not sure what model.

We did good on a 3000 mile trip just setting out 200 watts. It was sunny almost everyday, so only resorted to running the generator for a couple hours here and there. But, when I get some installed on the roof it will be 400 W min and maybe 600. I will need more because I have just installed 560 ah of Lithium batteries.

Thanks mark t I have a truck camper that has 2 100 watt panels provides plenty of power but all 6 volt batteries. The 261 RB will be used sparingly for off grid but many one or two days in traveling to destinations. Thinking two 100 watt panels. See how it does maybe add more if not enough. Thanks for info.

I'm planning on 2 of the Rich Solar 200w panels, which I should wrap up in the next couple days. I'm near Seattle so it'll be interesting to see what sort of output I get given the latitude. I'll report back as I get readings.

I posted a longer update on the solar thread I had created, but on a partially cloudy day, I ended up capturing about 140amps of power at a latitude of 46 degrees. Not bad at all considering the conditions and such.

I have 1200 W of panels feeding 3-206AH batteries through 2 charge controllers and a 3000A inverter so I can run my 15K A/C.

There is a group ion FB called Off Grid Mobile Solar I believe. They are a great source of off grid power. You would need to do a power audit to determine what you will need to power and for how long. Some say you need a bare minimum of 400 watts along with a large battery bank and large Inverter - 3,000 to 5,000 watts. It is quite expensive to go completely off grid and not use a back up source of power.
