Before calling a repairman I have a question or two about the toilet in my trailer. A seeping leak has occurred and I suspect it's the toilet, but I'm not sure. I noticed the floor wet behind the toilet but the water was more at the wall behind it. Unless the floor is actually a bit lower at the wall I don't see how the leak is from the toilet. The supply line is on the side and it's not leaking. The tank is only half full. My question is how does the toilet seat to the tank? If it's a straight shot to the tank I would assume the drain opening from the toilet would almost seal itself, am I right?

there's a foam seal where in a house you would see a wax ring.

An RV toilet doesn't have a tank. You should give us the make and model of the toilet and a photo will help.

There are several mechanisms at play here. The supply line goes to a valve (foot pedal flush or hand activated lever, not sure which you have). When you activate the valve, another line carries the water to the bowl.
Next you have the ball valve at the bottom of the bowl which basically open to a hole in the floor and a direct or slanted drop into the black tank.
My first question is, does water stay in the bowl when you're not using it or does it leak out? If it leaks out, you will need to do a ball valve replacement for sure.
Dry up the area as well as you can. Place paper towels all around the base of the toilet. Activate the supply valve to fill the bowl (usually a half-pull on the activation lever). Wait a couple minutes and check the paper towels to see if they are damp. If they are wet, you'll need to look at your specific toilet manuals and possibly replace the fill valve and lines. If they are not wet, then the problem probably isn't with the fresh water fill. Go ahead and flush the water out of the bowl and again wait a couple minutes and check the paper towels. If they are now wet, you have a problem with the seal of the toilet to the floor. Check your manual for proper replacement parts.
If it's still dry after this, what's on the other side of the wall from the toilet? Use other faucets and drains until you can see what the cause is. Good luck!

Turned out it wasn't the toilet. The connection fittings on the supply and feed lines of the hot water heater were just barely tightened. It has been leaking since day one but just showed up. The repairman tightened them. We have really hard water here and there is now a large area of dried crusty white on the floor where it had been leaking.
