Hi everyone,
I’m trying to troubleshoot a possible problem with the slide on our Frontier. We’re currently parked at a friends camper pad, and the RV electrical hookup is a little too far away from where we parked, so I had to connect the 30-amp cord to a converter down to a heavy-duty 15-amp cord, and just plug in to a normal outlet in the garage. I haven’t had any problems so far, I seem to be able to use nearly everything electrical except for the air conditioning. Would this be causing me to be unable to use the slide out?

The slide out is powered by the 12 volt system. Make sure you have a good battery (it can be tested for free at some parts stores), and make sure that the battery has a good charging voltage of 13.6 volts or more while plugged in, a voltmeter check at the battery is needed. While checking voltage, check at an outlet inside the trailer, it should be 120 VAC, if it is below 108, make other plans. Keep in mind that the extension cord should be as short as possible and of the heaviest gauge that you can get.

I have done the same thing w/o issues. The battery stayed topped off, we could watch TV, the A/C or micro wave will trip the breaker. Happy driveway camping. Make sure your battery is good and the slide should work properly.
