Good morning, doing my part on rising fuel prices
Slow Down and Drive Conservatively Reducing your speed by 5 to 10 mph can improve fuel economy by 7%–14%. Using cruise control on the highway can help drivers maintain a constant speed; vehicles use the most energy when accelerating. Feeling Blessed!!!!!

Fuel prices are not going to prevent us from taking our scheduled trips this year - it will just make it a little more painful to the pocketbook!!

Fuel prices are not going to prevent us from taking our scheduled trips this year - it will just make it a little more painful to the pocketbook!! It’ll be the same for us. What I did notice this year when we were booking at our annual campground is more longer term bookings. A lot of sites were booked for 2-3 weeks. Years ago most were 1 week bookings. This is in Ontario Canada where you can only book with arrival date 5 months from booking date. So today you’re booking for a August 7th or earlier arrival.

We have a long summer trip planned. Most of our sites are all pre-booked, and could be refunded if need be. We plan to still go, we had budgeted $ 4.50 per gallon, probably not a good number right now, maybe in a month or so it will be better. Like Chulavista, said, more pain, but more fun then staying home looking at the trailer in the driveway! Kirt

Much like the others have already said, we are still going, just buy fewer souvenirs & meals out.

Since DW retired this year, and I'm nearly so, we were planning on doing a lot more traveling in the FW, but we may be taking the Town & Country a lot more, instead. :-(

Looking like most our trips will stay in state or adjoining states with the longer stays.

Same feelings are the rest....we are going anyway. We hope we don't get hit with the Covid big time again.

During the height of the pandemic, fuel prices tanked. Less fuel being used caused prices to drop quickly. Even though the world events have had some effect on the oil prices, a lot of these extreme price hikes is to be blamed on Big Oil. They now have an excuse to make up for lost profits. One is the fact that they can now justify sending more overseas at our expense. The U.S. was getting very close to energy independence. The 4 percent loss of Russian oil does not equate to our prices going up over 30%. If everyone in the U.S. would stop buying gasoline for one day (it won't happen) the price would drop drastically.

Like most, fuel prices won't change our travel plans too much. Our long summer trip will have us in the same place for 2 months so that won't be too painful. My biggest shock came when we were on the Gulf Coast back in the winter. When we arrived on Galveston Island, diesel averaged around $3.29/gal. When we left it had gone up by 50%. As bad as it sounds, it only increased the price of the trip by about $200 since we had cheaper fuel for the trip down. Still... it stings when the pump rolls past $100 and you've only pumped 20 gallons!

Diesel up here is $2.05/Litre, converted to US gallon X4 is $8.20 /gallon. Converting Cdn $ to Us would be about $6.50 a US gallon. We are looking to Utah again late summer, which is 3,300 kms or roughly 2,000 miles one way. Thankfully once we cross the border fuel is cheaper!! My last fill-up, up here cost me $168. & I had 1/4 tank

Most expensive diesel was 1.989 a litre. 1600 km round trip cost me 450 bucks. 2013 Sierra 6.6 Duramax. Pulling the cargo I got 17 mpg. 12 if I’m towing my fifth wheel and boat.

Just filled up in Deer Lodge MT. $5.88 a gal for diesel, the most expensive fuel I have bought since I left Texas 4 weeks ago. My avg per gal is now $5.32, we got lucky a few times and found it in the low fives. We still have 7 weeks to go on this trip, so odds are my avg will get higher. Thankfully, in a few weeks the roads get flatter and the Rockies will be in the rear view mirror. Kirt

I've been surfing the forums and have signed up for some of the gas saver apps/cards. I might be grilling a few more dogs over the fire for a while, but the rewards of camping trips are worth it!

We are just coming into Spokane, then headed back east. In western Montana right now, found it for $5.94 and was happy to. My sister n law is in her diesel pusher coming up the California coast headed to your part of the world. She said highest they saw was $7.19 to date. They are going to Port Angles area. Hope you all are doing well.
