I had 8 Chinese tires between the car hauler & RV, one blew on the car hauler on its 2nd trip. That was enough for me. Went with Goodyear endurance.
My last tire failure was due to the valve stem failing, so its all metal valve stems now.
I was a Goodyear tire dealer for 35 years and the last 8-10 years you could see
a definite downturn in the quality of their products. Today they are no better than their Chinese counterparts.
I hate to say it because I am a firm believer to by US made whenever possible.
I can take you to any tire store, pull 10 random Goodyear tires and find manufacturing defects in at least half of them.
For a company that pioneered the vulcanization process, they can't build a tire that the tread will stayed adhered to
the carcass, they also can't or refuse to build a tire that is round or can balance with a reasonable amount of weight.
Their heavy duty all steel G series line of tires have been plagued with failures and lawsuits since their inception from the late 1990's to present.
These are the tires used on HDT's, MDT's Class A motorhomes and 5th wheel travel trailers.
Goodyear tires made up until 1994-5 were the best of the best, after that they are garbage, a mere shadow of the company they once were.
I know there are many out there that swear by Goodyear tires but the thousands of bad Goodyear tires that have gone through my shops, I stopped selling then in 2006
and would not recommend them any style, model or usage to my worst enemy. that extends to their ST trailer tires also, not just passenger, LT or G-unisteel.
