I have a 2009 37 CKM KZ Montego Bay, originally purchased in New York. We've had the rig for about 6 years, but brought it down to SW Florida. We have a center kitchen with the sink and cabinets on the inside wall. These cabinets seem to be directly over the black/grey and freshwater tanks. This summer we noticed that a LOT of heat was coming up through these cabinets. We lined the cabinets with double-layer bubble insulation (floors and walls), but it didn't seem to have any effect. I checked to see if the tanks had heaters, but can't seem to find anything. None of the other floor based cabinets in the unit seem to have this problem. I've blocked off the cold air returns, both in the rig and in the storage area- nothing. The storage area is not as hot as under the cabinets, so I don't think it's coming from there. The hot water tank is fully enclosed in a styrofoam cover, so no heat is escaping from there. It definitely seems to be coming from underneath. Has anyone else had this problem and have any suggestions as to how to fix it? Thanks.

Need a bit more info. Where are you located and whats the weather? Is the heater running? Whats under the cabinets in the basement? Any appliances in the cabinet?

As mentioned, I am in SW Florida and it's about 90-97 every day. No, the heater isn't running, the AC is. There is nothing under the cabinets except the sink drain and no appliances. The only other thing in that cabinet area is the utility cabinet with the breakers, fuses, etc. It generates a little heat, but not as much as is occurring. There is no basement heater for a KZ Montego Bay (and no switch to turn it on and off).

The fuses & breakers look something like this? If so I think you will find the converter behind that panel and they generate heat

Thanks. I love the build, too and am really surprised they don't make it anymore.
I did think the breaker box did generate heat, but not the heat that is coming from under the cabinets. Also, I lined every surface underneath with double-layer bubble insulation, including the walls on the back of the panel, and it had no effect. I really believe it's coming from under the camper. I may need to get someone to crawl underneath. Thanks for your help.
