The solid steps were introduced (perhaps market tested) on the 2019 KZ Escape 160RBT, and we have not been happy with them for a variety of reasons. We would like to replace them, and we are looking for suggestions for replacement steps that others in this forum have had success with. We asked KZ customer service, but they had no idea what to recommend.

With the door at the very rear a fold down step may hang too low and drag. After looking at a photo of your model, my thought is that a simple platform with folding legs might be ideal. It would be larger than a step, not have an upright to kick and would take up little room stored upright just inside the door. Just one suggestion.

I agree with Lynnmor that clearance could be a problem. We used to have a 20' TT that had the door at the rear, it had a single stop, it slid our rather than folded out & down. Something like this

It's weird that KZ didn't know what to recommend. I have a 2019 Escape E161RB that has the door at the rear of the trailer. KZ installed the Elkhart Tool & Die® - 20"W x 12"D Steel Standard 2 Entry Steps. On my rig the bracket is welded to the frame in the back and bolted to the floor in the front. They manually fold up nicely so there is plenty of clearance while traveling as can be seen in the photos below. They're also sold on Amazon HERE. I'm really glad to have these and will use the same if they ever wear out. One precaution is to install carpeting on the treads if you have pets so their nails/paws don't get caught in the little holes.
